Which channel(s) will have the equestrian events

Does anyone know which channel(s) will have equestrian events aired?

I would like to set up my DVR to record as much as I can.

NBC sports - here is a link to get the listings in your area:
http://www.nbcolympics.com/get-local/tvlistings.html

And, you can customize it to just get the equestrian event schedule.

According to the link below, they are live streaming all the equestrian events:

Darn, it appears that channel is not available in my area.

Any other options?

It looks like plain ol’ NBC (whatever your local affiliate is) will have some of them. However, in the other link I posted above, it looks like they will be streamed online as well.

I think a good portion (if not all) the live streaming is only available for cable tv subscribers. At least that’s what I’ve come to understand. So those of us without cable are stuck with whatever NBC broadcasts over the air.

looks like the cable option has a phone app so you can watch on your phone!

try this article

If this doesn’t link, then go to www.consumerreports.org and there is an article with links etc on how to watch the Games on mobile, laptop and streaming. I just lucked into this one.

Who wants to DVR it for me? I won’t have a snowball’s chance in hell to watch anything, Olympics or otherwise while I go play Army up in Anchorage!

Search this site and you’ll find other options already posted.

For those who do not want to search (no reason for everyone to do it) here are some links to what I assume Equibrit was referring to.

Oh boo, it looks like they won’t be live streaming the equestrian in my area. Anyone else with this problem? I checked the NBC website and it said they couldn’t find anything with equestrian live streaming. Don’t they know dressage is America’s new sport?

Booo on the cable stations monopolizing the Olympics…

I don’t have cable
I don’t have satellite
I can’t get regular old “air waves” where I live.

I tend to think that 99% of the stuff on TV is garbage, so there is no way I am paying for it – but I will miss having access to the Olympics. It’s a shame that you have to be in the pocket of a cable company to view the events.

I wish that all Americans could watch their teams compete without have to dish out $$ to the cable companies first.

Appsolute - you do have other options. The one Equibrit suggests will work but there are a lot of other streaming sites.

Thanks for the Tip… guess I have to get searching, as the links provided here all said that you had to be a cable subscriber to access the online feeds. I looked on COTH postings and it seems to say the same.

I didn’t see a link on Equibrits post… was it one of those “shady” online sites that streams TV?

This was from another thread:

Why do you have to prove that you have cable ? Are you saying that you can only watch online if you have paid subscriptions on Satellite or cable. They may be broadcasting all events, but many folks may not be able to see them all.

Ah - I see.

With a cable, satellite or telco TV subscription that includes MSNBC and CNBC, you can access live streams of EVERY Olympic event.
Equestrian

Full live streaming of Equestrian – all phases of all six events – will begin Saturday, July 28.

So, I guess if there is some way I can “cheat” the system I might be able to watch… I do not see any “easy” or legal ways to watch without paying the cable providers.

Are you talking about the live streaming of the equestrian events? Cause I haven’t checked that. You do get Channel 10 though don’t you? Hopefully something will be on there.

In Canada,

grr, my husband is talking of going away the week of August 6th… wherever we go better have cable or satellite tv!

I’m 100% with you on this. We do not subscribe to cable or satellite TV…dumbest waste of money ever…they make you buy all kinds of channels you don’t want to see to get anything! We do have a big honking antenna on the roof for broadcast TV…we are also far from towers. So we’ll get limited coverage. It makes me angry that cable is controlling Olympic coverage…I’d pay something to get all the live feeds, but I am not about to subscribe to cable.

Yep, same boat here. I get one channel and this is not it. Maybe I can catch something on the links listed. Thanks for posting them!

I am not sure what I checked. I will have to check again. I hit the link and it asked for a zip code. I tried several (mine, one from the other side of the city and one in the city) and none worked.

I do have channel 10, so hopefully they play something good on there.

I don’t know where “upstate” NY you are, but if you’re talking Albany area, NBC is 13. And if precedence is any gauge for what we’ll see, it’ll be negligible and that at 3:30 a.m. or something.

Question for online ‘techies’ - any way to view “live streaming” when I get home from work??? In other words, will ‘reruns’ be viewable?
