White dressage (horse) boot recommendations?

I’m looking for a set of white boots for my horse to wear schooling. Hard wearing, washable, breathable and stain resistant would be great, and inexpensive even better!

I’ve seen a few sets around $30-50 that appear to have fallen apart quickly according to reviews. Prefer something with fluff inside so sand doesn’t get in there, but torn as hosing them off means they’ll take a long time to dry… (nothing leather please)

thanks!

I have a set of 4 by N.E.W. But they were a long way from inexpensive. I found that for all the couple hundred I paid for them, they didn’t wear any better than the Heidi/Askahn ones I’ve used in the past. (Can’t remember who makes those.) For the money, the Dover dressage boots hold up as well as the super expensive ones IME.

I’ve had the Dover Dressage Sport Boots for several years now - the inexpensive ones that are just under $30 and they’ve held up very well. They are not leather - lined with fleece and are quite serviceable.

I use these: http://www.ridingwarehouse.com/DSB_Dressage_Sport_Boots_Original_-_White_Fleece/descpage-DSBO.html
They are fleece lined; I usually brush off and just wash periodically. The fronts I’ve had 2+ years and still going strong, the hinds I replaced after about 1.5 years since my horse brushes a bit there was a worn patch in the fleece - I use them about 4 days a week and overall I say the durability is good.

I have B Boots from Australia! My white ones are lined with australian sheeps wool. They’re very affordable, around $110 for a set of 4 shipped. Less expensive without the real wool (just neoprene). She also does colors now. I love them!

I use these: https://www.doversaddlery.com/ventech-all-purpose-boots/p/X1-04677/&utm_campaign=NB_PLA_Retail_Mid-Atlantic_GOOG/?gclid=CjwKCAjwopTYBRAzEiwAnU4kb9wUg1RgZfNu_TRNQk5dl7WFFquuA7sd4sHStUdt9vBzSY1NS86GuBoCHZ0QAvD_BwE

I absolutely love them. They wash up really well and are very cooling on the leg in my opinion.

not cheapest, per se, but I have a pair going on 4 years and when machine washed look good as new for clinics
not fleece, either, but I have had no problem with sand/dirt (not) getting under

I have these in black. Definitely cooler on my horse’s legs than the DSBs and with no fleece they are super easy to clean. I can’t say for certain, but they seem more resistant to wear from brushes also. They are quite a bit thinner than the DSBs, so if your horse has a definite brushing issue, I might stick with DSBs, but for occasional, incidental interference these are great.

I love Valenas: https://www.adamshorsesupplies.com/valena-front-boots-with-woolback-lining-2790116

I’ve had a set of 4 for over a year now, worn 5-6 times per week. The stitching just recently started to go on the velcro, but after a year+ of use, that’s understandable. They wash up really nicely. I like that the woolback lining stays pretty fluffy. I just sent my old set off to get the stitching re-done and bought another set – looked at a bunch of other options but these are still my top choice.

I like my ThinLine boots, but they are not fleece-y. Otherwise, DSB or el-cheapo Dover boots.

I like these…

DSB has lasted well for me. And I wash them, too

I just bought a set of Majyk Equipe dressage boots at our local tack shop. They appear very well made! Inner layer is breathable and will conform to the leg. I mostly bought them because even the X large have only 2 Velcro strips!

These are absolutely the BEST boots I have EVER used. I was a working student for a while so I have had my hands on a ton of different boots.

These don’t have fleece but I’ve been wanting to buy these boots since I saw them in person in Omaha last year. They look really breathable. I don’t want additional heat on the tendons so breathable is a major plus to me.

Wow thanks for all the ideas folks. I am leaning towards the Professional’s Choice VenTECH All-Purpose Boots despite not being fluffy: the ventilation seems pretty neat. And they’re $36 on Amazon! For sizing, looks like the large are HUGE - I’ll get mediums even tho my horse is a 17hh WB… right?

I have used the dressage sport boots and the dover boots. I like the dressage sport boots a little better as they are more flexible and seem to hold up better. I would recommend measuring the circumference of your horses cannon bone and calling who ever caries the boot that you want to check size before you order so you don’t have to return the boots for a different size. a medium for a 17 hand warmblood sounds too small to me. My 16.3 and 16.2 hand warmbloods both wear large boots in any kind I’ve tried. In fact the only warmblood I have ever had who has worn a medium is my currently tiny 4 year old who is 15.3 hands and I don’t think she is going to stay this size.

I have tried the professional choice boots and I don’t think they actually are as cool on the legs as the fluff lined boots (actually real sheepskin is the coolest, but a pain to take care of and expensive). I think all of the plastic boots get hot and I would not use a neoprene boot for that reason. I make sure that I put boots on right before I ride and I take them off as soon as I get off as well.

Another thought: why do you want white boots for schooling? I only order black or grey for schooling as white never stays white. If you want white for show warm-up you can use restrict their use so they stay white longer. Otherwise they get dingy looking pretty fast.

Another suggestion, the Eskadron boots are grat, but a bit more expensive. They are durable.

My favorite is DSB boots-- white BUT! With black fleece. They stay cleaner-looking than the white-on-white version. I have used my consistently for a couple of years and washed them. The velcro is strong and the outer shell is more flexible than what Dover builds and the fleece is thicker than what Smartpak makes.

It seems that only Riding Warehouse carries the white shell/black fleece option. But those guys have good sales, so you can get something great for not a lot of money.

My preference in order is: Dover, DSB, SmartPak, Tack of the Day.

The DSBs basically last a couple of rides before the binding at the bottom comes loose. The Dover boots don’t have binding so that’s not a problem.
