Who else is stuck on the great WEG gridlock of 2010?

We’ve been sitting for more than thirty minutes in the $20 parking field and not seen a single car move. Gonna be a long long night.

I am! 45 minutes later and we’re just rolling out of our parking spot. Hotel is 30 miles away. Long, long night but I’m not complaining! Tonight was fantastic!

We’re stuck! Where are the parking attendants or anyone to get things moving?

We have moved!!! Six inches. I kid you not.

Other lanes are moving but not ours. We’ve been sitting for an hour!

walked back to the parking lot due to the masses to catch a shuttle. I have now been sitting in the car for 50 minutes and have moved less than one car length. At this rate might consider sleeping over in the car to be here bright and early for the cross-country but fear they would charge me another parking fee.

Mk. Now I might start complaining… Moved a grand total of two car lengths. Our neighbors are tailgating and drinking beer haha!

I’m home in bed…I took the Lextran bus!

Almost out on the road! Woo hoo! Will have to rethink parking tomorrow!

Seriously! Anyone have an alternative plans for parking tomorrow?

And look at that as I’m typing, we just got on Iron Works. A solid hour and 43 minutes later.

Wow I would find that unacceptable! I’ve been to a few concerts at big stadiums where surely more cars were parked than at the WEGs and it did not take nearly as long as all of you are having to wait. I’m also thinking we didn’t have to pay for parking, although it is possible that we did.

Hotel shuttles ran like clockwork. Been back a while now. Sorry it was a nightmare for others, but glad I did the shuttle.

Have moved a car length!!! Wheeee!!! The speed is going yto my head.

an hour and 45 minutes for my mom and I to get out…what a nightmare end to an otherwise pretty perfect day

oh man seriously I feel for ya. But think about the Lextran bus maybe for tomorrow? I guess hotel shuttles aren’t an option for you, but I’ve been back long enough to have a hot soak in the tub and am now icing my leg. Roomie is off partying with friends.

And remember for tomorrow it shouldn’t be THIS bad, since you wont have 25,000 people trying to leave at ONE TIME. (Because the arena let out a huge crowd all at one time )Unless you bolt right after the last ride on XC. Plan to spend some time shopping, or napping, or checking out the horse park after that last ride so you don’t get caught up in traffic.

We made it out in 50 minutes, and then to our hotel 6 miles away in 12 minutes. One lane out is ridiculous. One of the volunteers told me someone from Disney handled the transportation logistics. I would believe it, “Mickey Mouse” planning in the parking arrangement, absolutely idiotic. Apparently, WEG folks didn’t feel the need to consult the Rolex folks on what works and what doesn’t. Glad we had cider to pass the time while we waited!

You think getting out after Rolex works?
I gotta tell ya, I heartily disagree…

The bus option is the best, if you can get it.
You can park at Coldstream if you’re not close to downtown, and catch the bus at the Marriott. It drops off at Embassy.

In all, I’ve been very impressed with the parking efficiency, but tonite was likely an anomaly. We parked at the WEG office, so it was easier. Spy Coast out after Reining last night was great.

Just got home…I live an hour away and sat in the parking lot for an hour and a half…I’m thinking in all the improvements they made to the park for WEG, an extra exit or two would have been nice!

I’ve never had a problem after Rolex either…

It sounds like every single Yankees game to me! Getting back on the Major Deegan takes a good hour - at least - and that isn’t a playoff or World Series!

Just got home

Sat in that mess for an hour and 45 minutes. Ditto everyone else, bad end to a great day. After about an hour, got out and asked some officials hanging out on golfcarts if they had any info. “No–but we heard other people say they’ve been waiting that long too!” I don’t understand how they could be unprepared for this? They do it with Rolex every year, right? Or, is this the WEG management?
