Let me know the good and bad. Thx
Are you planning on going to work for her?
I’m curious if anyone worked for her. I have the opportunity but would like to know the ins and outs before I say yes.
Are you the OP?
No I’m not the OP
I think there was someone who posted several years ago who had worked for her. I don’t remember any details though. Did you try searching for LC’s name and see if anything comes up besides this old thread?
That’s a bit weird then…
QFP
2 year date difference though. I’m guessing new poster found the old post on a search
This is my guess too. I always feel a little bad for new posters because it seems like they can’t win; run a search and bump an old thread, people act like it’s the most suspicious thing ever, but if they’re new and ask a question, the first thing they get told is “do a search.”
Agree with this. New poster looking for information, not an automatic red flag.
@muse2greats , I have not, but I have heard she has high expectations. I’ve met her only once or twice, but not in any relation to her business. She was friendly enough to me.
I’m confused.:o
skydy, why are you confused? The recent poster probably found the old post and used it to ask her (very similar) question. What exactly are you confused about, and why do you think that’s weird just because she wasn’t the original poster back in 2018? Do you think she should not be asking about a WS position in a public forum?
Know a couple of people that have worked for her. She is generous in terms of being able to ride…if you are are competent rider. Pay is shit. Facility in NJ is filthy and barn is falling down.
I was confused about the dates. Your explanation make sense, though I don’t get why anyone would bump a years old thread instead of asking the question themselves. Much less confusing for thick people like me.
No, I don’t care if people ask about working student positions here, it’s done fairly often.
Hearing that about the facility makes me sad
I don’t even know how she still rides, she looks so unhealthy.
The facility is “no frills” but it is not filthy or falling down. Laura is great with the hotter horses and if you want to learn how to handle that kind of horse, I recommend taking the chance to work with her. Every interaction I have had has been positive.
I don’t know her, I’ve only seen her ride in competition. She has no fear, it seems to me.
Hasn’t she been rather seriously injured a few times? She always seems to come back, so don’t you think she must be a healthy person, having recovered from such serious breakage?
A) This has nothing to do with the question asked. B) Speculation about someone’s health based on their appearance is really unkind.
