I’m wondering what the bloodlines are of 10 movers that came off the track 
Of course, this is a very unscientific question, but I’m curious!!
My 8’s are everybody else’s 10s, and HRH Avery was a solid 8 in my book. He was by True Level, a no-account son of Tom Rolfe out of a Turn-To mare. 
His damsire was Mr. Beano, an equally no-account son of Australian stakes winner Bernborough. His dam line was thoroughly unremarkable from the racing perspective, albeit he did have an ungodly bunch of European stakes winners 5 generations back, most notably the great Oirish Harse The Tetrarch, Sir Gallahad, Wise Counselor (edit oops he’s USA), and Mont D’or.
What makes for great race horses does not necessarily make for great movers!

My two young, very nice moving, and recently off the track TB’s are by Brushed On and Regal Classic. The Brushed On gelding is probably the nicest moving TB on the farm (as far as hunter movement). Even my trainer said that he’s second only to my very fancy HAN baby. Everyone who has seen him notices his ‘quality’.

I adopted an OTTB in November by Wekiva Springs (who is by Runaway Groom), who is a really lovely mover. He is still in the process of recovering from slaughter pen starvation, so he is still not much to look at. But he has a really lovely huge trot, and a nice canter. Lots of overstep at the walk. I have yet to ride him (he needs more weight and condition first) so I can’t say anything for how he feels. I plan to event him but with his gaits, he would probably make a nice hunter.

2 of my OTTBs are what I consider “fancy” (the other two are ok!).

Jay has more of the classic TB hunter movement. Very level, easy to sit his trot, long smooth ground covering canter. He’s by Chequer, who I can’t find (he may be dead) but when I googled him it looks as though he was bred to a lot of “sport ponies” which is interesting.
My fanciest is by Personal Flag. Love that horse. Great mover, great jumper. Much more level headed as he ages, lol. Raced til he was 9, is now 17.
My new guy, who’s looking to be pretty fancy himself, is a Maria’s Mon baby. He’s really green (as in I’ve never been on him!) but looks fab in the indoor when we free lunge.

I’m not sure just how “fancy” she is exactly, but she’s a pretty decent one and I’ve had a few trainers tell me that she can do the "A"s, so we’ll see. She could probably do them OK…I on the other hand… :lol: I think she has a nicer walk than her sire does, though.
The colt is by Husband and his dam is line-bred New Twist. Right now, he’s in Ocala, but I don’t believe he’s shown yet this year. His name is One Step Closer and although he spent a few months at the track, he never got his gate card. The trainer said he rode more like a Pony Horse than a race horse!
That reminds me of LARRY’s HAT a small TB stallion that has bred lots of ponies in Viginnia - he is in BC now and is a lovely mover.
My 22yo TB mare, Dream, (that a trainer told me was in the top 5% of movers in the country, back before I had a clue what that meant) is by Allocated by Nodouble. She also has Turn-to way back on her dam’s side. She truly does have breathtaking movement. (Dreamology)
My 6yo very nice huntery mover is by Canvas (Mr.Prospector) out of Petit Oiseau by Storm Bird. She is nice, but still not the mover that Dream is. Wish, wish I had had a baby out of Dream.
My other Tb’s are nice enough, a gelding with a fabulous canter (Majestic Light), but nobody can trot like these girls.

My TB mare is by Pentelicus who has Fappiano (Mr. Prospector) in his sire’s line and In Reality in his dam line and she is out of a mare with Turn-To in her dam line and Bold Ruler in her sire line.
I wish we could narrow down where that flat kneed hunter movement comes from.
