Not that it’s a bad thing. They just seem to never discount or go on sale unless they’re colors that didn’t sell. It doesn’t seem like that’s the case for this round since they crashed Dover’s website yesterday. Do you think this could mean more sales in the future?

I honestly think TS had to do it to stay competitive with the newer social media savy brands. I mean, at $190 it’s pretty hard to keep a pair of breeches on top that NEVER goes on sale, especially with a market flooded with imitations! Just me 2 cents though. I think this sale is long overdue. Too bad I don’t have a spare $130 currently! :lol:

It was great to have a sale, but there weren’t many colors available. On Dover’s there were 2 colors in the mid-rise side zip in size 30R and I think 3 colors on Smartpak, or vice versa. Normally I think there are at least 8 colors available in that style and possibly a few more than that.
It seemed more like a sale to clear out less common colors or those that typically don’t sell as quickly otherwise.
I wish they would have a real sale where they offer a discount on all their colors.
It took me over 2 hours just to get things in my cart on the Dover website and when I tried to pay for it, the website crashed so I had to call and place an order over the phone. In the meantime, the items that it said were in stock had gone into backorder.
They are super cheap at Greenhawk, $99 CAN. The website only lists a few colours, but the store I was at today had every colour they had in stock except tan on sale.

Tailored Sportsman allowed the sale in part because so many dealers had been asking to clear ‘old’ colors. But the only actual restriction (from TS) was “no tan on sale”. Dealers were allowed to determine their own discount level and which colors they would offer. At Farm House, we decided to discount everything (including this Fall’s brand new colors) at 20% off. We carry a really huge TS inventory all the time, so it’s a great thing to clear out some of the oldies and boost sales of the new, and it’s been great to be able to reach out to our customers with a special event. And… it’ll let us order more of the new stuff we’ll see at the AETA trade show next month, which is I’m sure the biggest reason TS okayed the (first ever!) sale. They want to boost their own sales to their dealers. :yes:

Thank you for the dealer’s perspective! I’m glad that it created so much buzz, especially if it got customers to pick up a few extra items while they shopped. I was pretty surprised to see more than one place offering a sale knowing that wasn’t what TS usually allowed. I hope they’ll give you all the chance to do it again.
They weren’t on sale at any greenhawk around me. The only $99 breeches I saw there were their elation brand on sale from $159.
greenhawk calgary is advertising Tailored Sportsman on sale for $99 (of course except the tan colour)!
We did it for our stores , not for our brand . Mellissa got it exactly right . It’s easy to stay on top if you have fans , and tailored sportsman fans are the most loyal ! Seeing people wear my breeches and excited to collect the colors makes me want to get up in the morning and figure what’s next … here’s to the tailored sportsman fans

This is what a dealer in my area told me as well! She also told me that the color on color breeches will be going away and the colored ones will all have tan patches… not sure if thats true or not!
not true. matching patches are still on the line, just less people seem to want those,and more people want vintage tan patches

so I bought a pair and they pinch in front. The front zip ones do. I tuck my shirt in by wow. When I talked to the girls in my barn they said they all wear the side zip for that reason. What in the world? Anyone else have this problem?
