A-F would you feel comfortable installing Chrome or Firefox (i.e., a different browser) and trying that to see if it clears up your problems.
Or clear your cookies and see if that helps (not strong in Win so not sure how to tell you to do that

Problem #9159462ā¦ plonking away at a response/postā¦ and then screech the ability to put words on the screen haltsā¦ sheās locked up and I have to go out of COTH completely by closing that window and start ALL. OVER. AGAIN.

It does that to me too. It appears that when it tries to auto save what Iām writing COTH freezes up for a few seconds. Usually it āunfreezesā itself, but I have had it completely freeze and I must reboot my browser. Desktop using Chrome.
For me, desktop MacOS + Safari, I occasionally have a page get āstuckā partially through loading. Even if I āXā the window to stop the load and then re-start it, the load hangs in the same place. I need to usually just navigate to a different site (not COTH) and go back to the page in COTH that was hanging and it loads just fine.
I still suspect the ads and my personal, completely unresearched opinion :), is that the guilty party is Flash (not necessarily COTHās implementation of the software).
Yes, I get this is COTHās web site but they are using software that they didnāt write (yes, software like BB software is intended to be customizable by the customer) and displaying Ads that COTH has no control over (i.e., which ads actually get displayed).
For COTH, the more information you can provide them with your environment (browser, OS, platform) along with what you were doing, the easier it is for them to track down issues and hopefully (if it is in their control) get them resolved.
A-F. if you have to exit your browser and āstart overā were you typing or Post Reply or ? If you were typing the reply, did you get any of it auto-saved so you can restore it when you get back to that topic??
My issues are normally just when the page is loading and sometimes when Post Reply (usually I just have to wait that out sometimes longer than others).
I think that may be a very good guessāI donāt have this happen at all, but I do run an ad blocker
@Angela Freda are you having these problems after clearing your cookies? Did you try another browser, preferably with an ad blocker?
@Angela Freda Please let us know how it goes after clearing cookies and weāll go from there. Weāre sorry to hear youāre having trouble with the site. It can definitely be a challenge to nail some of this stuff down when thereās so much variability in what platforms people are using. We obviously want folks to have a good experience and be able to use the site, so weāll try to get to the bottom of it after we hear back.

I usually lose a handful of words if I type them after the āautosaveā notice shows up in the typing box. Since it is hit and miss whether it crashes my internet I usually keep on typing. The majority of my messages show back up when I get into COTH again. Since it saves what Iām writing itās more of a nuisance than a āIām throwing this computer out the windowā problem.
I do have ad blocker so I donāt believe the ads are an issue with this. Iāve not had problems with the ads elsewhere like many others have reported.

As least you havenāt lost what youāve types (in the previous BB software, had that happen a few times :eek: ).
What I have noticed is when I type in a post and the post ends up on a ānewā page (i.e., started the post on one page, someone else posted while I was typing and now my post is on the next page) I see the comment about new posts and such which is fine. When I go back to that post later, I get the Discard/Restore choice even though my post is there.
Strange but Iāve learned to just discard it.
Canāt like, canāt quote, canāt navigate pages forwards or backā¦ whether I try using the actual page number tabs at the bottom, or the arrow forwards /back at the topā¦ or even go to the address bar at the top and change the page at the end of the addressā¦ and now I canāt even scroll up or down the pageā¦ neither my mouse, nor the bar to scroll up or down works [the latter doesnāt even appear].

I started having the same problems yesterday and still there this morning.
When I go to a forum page, some times nothing works, it seems stuck and canāt scroll down to see what threads are there.
I first thought some ad many be doing that freezing, but canāt scroll to see the ads.
Waited some to see if it clears, but no, it is stuck for good, I have to go back to the main all forumās page.
Then I can try again and all seems to be working fine for a bit, until it happens again?

The freezing the page problem I am having, did it five times yesterday, so not a bad problem, did it again this morning, I think it may be possibly connected to the Boehring Ingleheim ad, that seems to fill in and change in big squares?
Not sure, but maybe that is the cause of my MacBookPro laptop on Safari sticking on the rare page and needing to go back and re-enter to be able to scroll around it.
Hope that helps the computer gurus.
They may know what to do about that one causing some glitches for those of us that are getting a few.
Yup here too, the page loads and the scroll bar on the side doesnāt, and I canāt scroll down with the mouse either.
Sometimes it clears up if I copy/paste the address in the address bar, or change the page number thereā¦ but not always.
I also tried logging out and logging back in, Nyet.
It seems to not matter how I navigated to get thereā¦ the blue ālast post buttonā, the page numbers at the bottom or the arrow page changer at the top can all get me this slow loading page that omits the scroll bar on the side.
I though it was the ad with the 120 pound woman runner and the 1000 # horse, but that ad is now gone thanks to an Amazon search and the bar still doesnāt always appear.
Thanks for the update. The developers said there was some extra load on the servers last week with WEG tickets sales, and that may have been affecting performance, but Iām also still experiencing some page loading issues where you canāt scroll down.
Iām going to follow up with them, but Iāve found refreshing the page once or twice provides a temporary solution.

Frozen pages were bad today again.
Seems to be that banner ad on top with Boehring Engleheim trying to change itās picture, as that is what is up there when that happens.
I go back to the previous page then back to the one I want to read and all is fine then for a while.
Interesting on the heavy load, that could be, if many are trying to access that page and it forms a queue of requests and that freezes the page changes.
Also, posting some times takes a couple minutes.
That is way, way too long, like to get this posted.
Maybe they can fix that somehow?
I thought I was losing it - couldnāt find a way to scroll down a thread only on some threads in some forums. I tried moving my page over thinking I had somehow shifted everything over lol. Glad to see it isnāt just me.
I am on IE on a laptop.
Clearing cookies didnāt help.

Having the same issues. Page will only partially load, no side bar to scroll, will have to refresh once or twice. Google ads are slow load adding to wait time, constantly closing them and reporting them but same ads show up again and not related to anything I have googled. Sometimes the computer will freeze when typing in a response. Occasionally will get unauthorized pop up when logging in but oddly it will log me in anyway. I use Windows Edge latest updates are done, still issues.
I also see the occasionally page āfreezeā where page wonāt scroll up/down. A reload fixes the problem.
Sees to me to happen if I attempt to type/scroll on the page before the load is complete.
For me, annoying but not a big deal
