I forgot I also have a pair of these:

Paula M I looked at those but they wouldn’t work for me. I have narrow hips but a big rear end. In order to fit my rear end the waist band stands off and the breeches slide down. I always end up having to pull them up to meet the crotch once I am on the horse.
I have one pair of very old hunter breeches that are high waisted and fit nicely but they flare at the thigh and look horrible. I usually wear them when no one is around.
Harry Halls used to fit perfectly but they don’t exist any more.
They can come back as long as they keep making the mid/low rise breeches. I’m another one who is short waisted. I have about 2 inches between my ribs and pelvis, so anything with a higher rise comes up to my boobs. Not comfortable at all.
I ride in Horze Grand Prix breeches almost exclusively. They strike a perfect balance of coverage and comfort on me. I have a pair of Equissentials that look good on my legs, but not so much on my mid-section.
I’d just be happy with “natural waist” breeches. I can’t stand the (mostly H/J style) low/drop whatever-you-want-to-call it. I still mourn the discontinued On Course Herringbone pleated front breeches. My last copy wore out a couple of years ago. I mostly make do with those Kerrits with the houndstooth pattern for everyday - they at least come with a natural waist not “lowrise.” AAARRGH. I’m not a 110 lb. teenage hunter princess!!!
Pikeur Luganas are my go to breech. Perfect rise, sit at a flattering spot. You can get them in the US, I always order them from Germany because it’s so much cheaper.
Pikeur Mondegas, nice high waist, they don’t fit me at all, but fit people that have something in the way of hips and a small waist.
Romfh has several models of nice high rise breeches that are comfy, flattering, and durable. The cost is quite reasonable.
Back to the more costly breeches, Arista makes several styles in a high waist, same as above, comfy, durable, super cute.
I also have a bunch of Dressage Extensions brand breeches…they’re super high waist, like over the belly button, but have real leather full seat and they wear like iron. Not sure if they still sell them though.
ETA: also have a pair of Horze crescendo breeches, they’re very blingy, but perfect rise and excellent/flattering fit.
So I think there are tons of options. All of my show breeches sit at my natural waist so as not to show any lumps or bumps.
Dutchmare, you must be short waisted, or at least shorter in the rise.
You know, I never understood the desire for the low rise. If you’re a woman, you wear a low rise pant and you have a longer shirt–then it looks like you have no waist. You look like a boy. Sorry, I don’t want to look like a boy. I like the curvy look, with a waist! Yes, we lose our waist as we get older, but that’s even more reason to wear things that fall at your waist and bring attention to it. You can fake having one.

Just wanted to say-- i sure hope they come back.
Attn manufacturers: i would buy them.
I would also appreciate size charts that speak to waist, hip and inseam measurements. It’s so much easier to buy jeans than breeches.
And also rise. One manufacturer’s “low waist” is often far different from another’s. And we clearly all come in various sizes as well as shapes!
Something like the boot manufacturers do would be great!

I have a super long waist and I wish I could find more high waist options in the US. Does anyone have any higher waisted brands they love?
HKM Blink model
Another vote for Pikeur Luganas- that is all I ever buy anymore, and I’m pretty sure their cut hasn’t changed in 30 years. They are so well made and sometimes you can find a deal on them online- I can be very patient and I’m open to most colors (navy and black are usually cheapest). They are not high waisted or low waisted, I’d say they are regular waist on most people.
I bought some from Amira and they shipped pretty fast- like within 2 weeks. Price was less than half what Dover or Smartpak charges, and shipping was only $27 - Dover seems to charge a minimum of $14 for anything these days and they are really slow.
I hope some company starts making high waisted breeches. My natural waist is closer to my armpits than my ribs. Right now I have a pair of SmartPak’s Piper with a “modified rise” which is a tad longer than the regular. And like someone posted upthread, I mourn the loss of the herringbone breeches. My only pair of On Course is wearing out between the thighs. This may be my last weekend riding in them. sob
Everyone is built differently. For me, short waisted as I am, the so-called “low rise” breeches generally sit at or very near my natural waist. “Regular” rise breeches are NOT comfortable nor flattering on me - they sit above my waist and just look ridiculous. To each their own, I say.
For those that like a longer rise/higher waist, check out Montar breeches. They have some very cute styles and the quality is wonderful. I have a couple pair that I purchased online since I was so taken by the styles - but sadly they don’t fit me well. I don’t want a breech that functions as a shelf bra!!! Sigh.
Ooh, those Montar breeches are cute! And they have POCKETS!
I’m all for style choices, and am a die hard Pikeur Laguna fan. But being short waisted those high waisted breeches come up like a corset on me…ughhh, can-not-breathe!
I wish high waisted jeans would come back…
Big “D” dressage nowadays is a lot about fashion from clothes to horses (and hunters even worse). I have several pairs Cavallo’s that I’ve hung on to and patched for the simple reason I couldn’t find any with a higher waist. Another thing, there’s so many of us more seasoned riders now with arthritis, please, please make some with the zippers in front, not on the side.

Ditto, my only source is Ebay for older style jeans. Yes, with bringing back high waste breeches too with extra room in hips and thigh!
Just love my Cavallo Chaghalls but I’ve been searching for less expensive options.
So far I’ve found:
Montar,
Jeffries Competition Breeches which despite their name are in more colours than the usual competition ones,
Rugged Horse,
Equetech snaffle,
Dublin Supa Embrace
and Olvossa.
I’m intrigued by the silicone seat ones. Only problem is that the Cavallos are so stretchy they’ve accommodated a 20lb weight gain so I’m not sure what size I should buy.
I’ve not included web links as they’re all on UK sites, but there may be US stockists if you search.

As an adult woman with a boyish body, this wasn’t very nice. I’m fine with looking like a boy because that’s what my body looks like. And I’m not old, either.
Just because you want something doesn’t mean you need to insult other people’s bodies or looks in your ranting.
HKM Miss blink breeches are by far my favorite choice for higher waist breeches. I am also on the chunky side of the spectrum with some junk in the trunk, so to speak, and these just hug in all the right spots. They are also made higher in the back which eliminates the fear of accidental plumbers crack while picking feet and brushing legs.
