Willem van Nassau - Pinto Baroque

so youtube suggested a video to me last time of this stunning pinto stallion, Willem van Nassau. I googled and found a lot of info, but I want to know if anyone has actually seen him. I think he may be in the US. He’s trained to Grand Prix dressage, is 1/2 Friesian and 1/2 Dutch Warmblood and the foundation sire for the Pinto Baroque registry. ADDED: Here is the youtube video I meant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTY7h40WiMw

Where did they get pinto genes from with that cross?

Can’t find that stallion but did land on a backyard registry call Friesian Heritage of which Pinto Baroque is a subset. Basically a registry for anything that’s at least 25% Friesian.

Looks like drum horse and gypsy vanner cobs are in the mix too.

I’m not a big fan of harness or draft horses under saddle and I don’t love Friesians as riding horses.

It’s not that half draft pinto that morphed into a “Polish Warmblood” a few years ago is it?

That was quite the COTH thread!

It’s unfair not to post the corresponding link to said gem, you know!

Oh. Well I haven’t seen the link to the Pinto Baroque horse in question.

The thread I remember was on the breeding forum and It was several years ago.

How to find it again? I’ll try.

Now, this thread probably has nothing to do with the Friesian Dutch Pinto that is the subject of this current thread. https://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/f…ye-dye-equines

It was not as time consuming as I thought it would be to find the old thread that the current thread brought to mind. The whole thing was a mess. It’s amazing what people will try to get away with.

ETA Can’t be the same horse anyway, it was a Buckskin “Polish Warmblood” (not a Pinto).

Yes I believe you, but I’m sure you didn’t have a half draft buckskin “Polish Warmblood” type that was in the old thread.

Is there a link to a photo of this Pinto Baroque KWPN/Friesian for those of us who are not members of facebook?

Read the thread, which was in part about people falsifying the registration of cross bred horses, advertising a draft cross as a Canadian Warmblood and then a Polish Warmblood.

Maybe it’s just safer and easier to make up a Backyard Breeder Registry with categories. The Medieval Hairy Horse. The Narrow Barbie Horse. The Broken Baroque. Rohanner Zeitgeist Studbook.

I remember that Canadian pinto draft cross saga…good times :0

I participated in that thread… The fraud really ticked me off.

The Pinto/KWPN youtube link shows a very colorful horse that many people would admire.

Oh, but the entertainment!! Much thanks to you, very much appreciated.

It was a long strange trip, wasn’t it? Still, I am seriously miffed that anyone would try such nonsense.

I also just reread that thread:lol: my friend had a tvr horse, so it was particularly entertaining.

I’m not a huge color fan, especially pinto, because like a grey that is way more grooming effort than I’m willing to put forth.

Samber? Ever heard of Art Deco? Sempatico?

Warmbloods were harness horses too in recent history. So what breed do you prefer that was not used for driving in the past century? Arabians? Many people love Friesians as riding horses. Many people love Andalusians. Many love Tbreds. Not everyone wants to ride a Warmblood.
