Woman Shot at Barisone Farm

Apparently I said something along the way that makes you think your understanding of forensic science matters to me. Let me clarify. I donā€™t give a toss. Iā€™ve expressed an opinion about the thread topic and a specific idea that was raised (the likelihood that forensic evidence will guarantee an attempted murder conviction in this case) and have not found the counterpoints you and Jealoushe have offered to be particularly persuasive. Iā€™m not sure about the ā€œeither the articlesā€ you refer to, as my suggestion was to do a more extensive literature review if you are truly interested in the scientific evaluation of forensic techniques. Nor I am not particularly inclined to believe that you refrained from mentioning dog bite evidence precisely because you had already thought the whole thing through and taken caution regarding the limits of that sort of forensic work.

I wonder what kind of blood spatter you find when someone beats a dead horseā€¦

Depends on what you hit it with.

Thatā€™s not how this works, thatā€™s not how any of this works.

You donā€™t get to tell people to ignore you.
You donā€™t get to respond to their posts or the points they make in posts and expect them not to comment.
And you most certainly are not the pinnacle of adult behavior, since you bring it up.

Why am I laughing at your posts? Because you contradict yourself. Constantly. Frankly, it is hilarious.

I hear the property is being listed for sale.

Third hand info so take that for what itā€™s worth

Actually heā€™s an excellent exampleā€¦ of what not to do (carry because itā€™s cool).
Thatā€™s whatā€™s so hilarious, you canā€™t get past what you want people to say, what you think they should be saying, or what you think theyā€™re saying which is wrongā€¦ to read the points they are actually trying/wishing to make.

But attacking or retreating arenā€™t the only ways this could have happened.

Like there are many shades of grey between black and whiteā€¦ there are many occurrences besides retreat and attack.

Youā€™re just as bad as all those you rail against on this thread.

Youā€™ve tried, convicted, and sentenced MB to life in prison without having heard a shred of evidence other than what has been said on various social media and news articles that have been demonstrated to be less than completely neutral & factual.

Most all of us have agreed that using a gun is not the way MB should have attempted to resolve this situation. But until youā€™ve dealt with severe personality disorders in a very up close and personal way, you can continue claim with 100% certainty that you would never resort to such drastic measures. Once you have, then come back and tell me with 100% certainty that you wouldnā€™t resort to drastic measures. When youā€™ve lived through a situation with someone who is determined to ruin your whole life, you donā€™t know what you can be driven to. Itā€™s what drives people to run away and change their identity to escape a violent abuser.

Itā€™s the whole walk a mile in someoneā€™s elseā€™s shoes before passing judgement philosophy.

That doesnā€™t excuse what MB did, and he likely is going to do real time in prison due to his choices. At his age, itā€™s probably going to be the better part of the rest of his life and his life as he knew is over.

LK is going to continue to bully and manipulate and abuse people unless someone (parent, caretaker, etcā€¦) takes control of her life. If this was going to be a wake up call for her, sheā€™d be laying quiet, healing, and seeking treatment to figure out what makes her push people in her life to this point.

She didnā€™t deserve to be shot, but she refuses to own ANY responsibility for her behavior. Thatā€™s what pisses people off. A grown-ass woman of almost 40 years old should know that you canā€™t act like a spoiled 5 year old and expect that there are no consequences. Whether there is a personality or mental disorder at play or just super shitty parenting throughout her life, who knows?

Iā€™m one of those who can say with 100% certainty that I would never have brought a gun into this situation and would never have fired it in this situation. Or any situation that Iā€™ve been in so far in my life, including having a knife held to my throat by an abusive ex who was literally psychopathic. I donā€™t pass judgement on those who carry guns, I just donā€™t understand their choices and think in most cases the risks outweigh the benefit.

Nobody is condoning LKā€™s behaviour. And I doubt anyone thinks sheā€™s going to change because of this incident.

I hadnā€™t noticed the NYT article until this evening, and thought I would check out this COTH thread to see if it was reopened. To my surprise, it is. I thought Moderator1 made a good call to shut it down on Oct. 1, until there was new information. The Times article is a fluff piece at best, with no new information. I was disappointed that the journalist took the easy route in framing the story as victim shaming and cyber stalking of LK. Not a big surprise, as this angle of the story is one requiring the least amount of investigative journalism (aka work).

LK did not deserve to get shot, and I have not come across this sentiment on this thread. Some of the recent quotes here that elude to this notion are partial quotes taken out of context. LK is a mentally unhinged woman who has caused much havoc to others in her 40 some odd years of life.

Iā€™m hoping that MB gets his time in court soon so that the facts can be disclosed and heard by judge and jury.

Unfortunately, the tone of this thread is degenerating once again, and it may be shut down again.

It appears to be this property

Thanks for link to property! It really helps to envision the crime scene by seeing all the pics of the property and seeing how close the house is to the barn.

Off topic, but does the indoor arena have any other overhead doors or windows that open? I would think it would get hot in the summer, or is it air conditioned?

LK posted on this thread that the barn manager was the owner of the gun, but I donā€™t think this has been verified by any other source.

Hi SonnysMom
Did you hear anything about LK having a menacing dog on the property before the shooting?

How heartbreaking for those involved. Typical of a horse property real estate listing, I couldnā€™t help but notice that all but a few of the pictures are of the barn. None of the pictures appear to be of the interior of the house. To be fair, considering all that went down, the living area in the barn doesnā€™t look too shabby.

The first time I heard about the vicious dog was when LK herself posted about how it attacked at the time of the shooting, not sure if sheā€™s deleted it now though (so much has been ā€œmanagedā€). There were photos of the dog at some point, itā€™s a mid sized cross breed.
