Tack of the Day has Ariat vests and Moxie jackets sized up to XXL. I have a Moxie cooler in the same fabric as the jacket and it’s a lovely sueded material. Can’t wait for the jacket!
Alakazam they must be mislabeled or something. If anything, I found they ran large–I ended up going a size down from what the chart said I would need.
I had that happen once. I didn’t pay $16 for shipping, but I ordered half chaps from TOTD (don’t remember the brand) that should have fit based on the size chart, and they didn’t. I complained, and they did take them back. They tend not to take returns, but they should when the item isn’t as advertised!
How about the Fuller FIllies Line?? They just came out with a dress boot and country boot— as well as their other great lines… Take a look

Fuller Fillies new boots
Fuller Fillie now has a facebook page and you can see pictures of the new boots
QUOTE=NCSue;4697856]Looking for dress boots to fit the larger calf? SmartPak will be carrying a line of dress boots by Fuller Fillies starting in April. They will run about $300. Don’t yet have a picture up but will fit through a 20" calf.
Hi Apryl. I am looking forward to slowly purchasing some of the Fuller Fillies line. Will be fun to have something to ride in that isn’t just solid black. Got to breathable since I live in the very humid south. One thing I’ve found is that some of the fuller size chaps and boots aren’t tall enough for me.
I live in MO and could find NOTHING to wear… So I started my own store with FF… I was so shocked to see that there was so little offered here! So glad this Thread exists!! Apryl
Argh. Only offered up to a size 10, however (I’m an 11). It’s a shame, too, as the dress boots look pretty good and they have a DuBarry-ish style, too.

Good for you…and welcome!
I’m so excited for the fuller fillies boots since they look like they have room for losing/gaining on the calf area.
My question is the ones they have at smartpak don’t have laces like the field boots. Having never owned a pair of tall boots due to the calf issue how big of a deal are the laces anyways?

Got my jacket. I love the material but it’s definitely not a perfect fit for me. The hip area is tight, the shoulders are wide, and the sleeves are quite long. I plan to wear it, but it’s not the best fit in the world. So if any of you have long arms and a not-as-curvy figure, you might like it
Tothepointe… I have both field and dress boots, and really, there’s very little difference other than the look.
The field boots are nice if you’re wearing more bulky socks in ‘weather’ (my fieldies are for just that–winter clinics etc. where I’m wearing layers & woolies) or if you have a particularly high instep and have trouble getting the foot through the ankle area of the boot to put on.
I actually don’t think I’ve unlaced my field boots in a couple years. It’s a PITA to losen the laces if you lace them ‘correctly’ anyway.
I don’t know what is in ‘fashion’ for showing hunters. For dressage you can wear field boots, I’m pretty sure right until you wear a shad. (just not sure if you can with shad) Usta be hunters you HAD to have field boots, but I think that might’ve changed.
Field boots are more in fashion witht he hunter crowd, but dress boots are never, ever incorrect in the hunter ring-in fact, field boots were meant to be worn during informal huntin season while dress boots are the correct formal wear.
I so cannot wait til April…
I contacted Smartpak and they say that will have the field boot style with laces in the summer.
Today (March 4) on Tack of the Day there are half
chaps with calf size up to 17". Even more exciting
for us hobbits/shetland ponies/midgets, the height
for 17" calf starts at 15" heights.
I personally just wear what is more functional rather than fashionable. My field boots have always been good to me. Due to the cost of maintaining my horse, I cut corners by sticking to my field boots until they wear out. I would of course have both if my budget allowed.
Durability of Fuller Fillies’ half chaps?
Anyone have the Fuller Fillies’ half chaps? If so, have they worn well?
I’m looking at the dress boots and the design seems to be similar, so I’m guessing that they are made by the same manufacturer. I would like to hear others’ experiences with the FF half chaps before I go ahead and purchase the dress boots.
I keep my boots until they wear out, so durability is important, especially since the boots aren’t cheap.
Fullier Fillie boots already sold out and are on back order I figure I try a pair
Can’t beat the price, under $300 for a boot that will fit a truly wide calf.
I have two pairs of customs, older effinghams and a new pair of effinghams, that I had a cobbler work on – not perfect, but they fit. Price of customs are very $$$$ I looked into it, either $800 - $1200. So $300 is looking real good
Equitectors start at $450. Checked into them also.
Smart Pak is expecting he boots to be in early May 2010.
I saw the FF half chaps at Apryl’s stand last month
Apryl had the entire Fullier Filies line there. Apryl and I were INSTANT pals, she is a total go-getter! The half chaps are gorgeous, the only reason I didn’t get any is because they were to short, but as soon as she has the taller ones I am buying them. And the breeches with the very fine plaid? Oh Mein Gott in Himmel, simply fabulous. Ordering a pair next week. Can’t wait until the FF shads are here either. Not that Oliver and I are doing anything Shadworthy, but if nothing else I just can’t wait to see 'em.

Coreene, do you mean the plaid full seats with the lavender thread in them? Dark colour?
You will LOFF LOFF LOFF them! they are SO comfy, wash great, and on me with my short little fat legs, go right to the ankle. GREAT side zip pocket too! Mine look brand new still!
De
The full seat small plaids they have in brow and blue. Methinks the brown ones. Should have bought them at EA! They will be much cooler in the summer here than regular breeches. Aw heck, might even get both.
