I had a lovely email exchange with the FF folks, and they will indeed be offering up to a size 11.
Tell me about the FF breeches – are they light enough to wear in the hot heavy humid heat of summer? Please say yes. I’m looking for a justifiable reason to buy a pair.
Oh I can’t wait to save up and get those country boots by fuller fillies in smart pak! I have drooled over the dublin and the very expensive ones (can’t remember who they are made by), but my calf would never fit in those. Ahh I can’t wait.

Apryl had the entire Fullier Filies line there. Apryl and I were INSTANT pals, she is a total go-getter! The half chaps are gorgeous, the only reason I didn’t get any is because they were to short, but as soon as she has the taller ones I am buying them. And the breeches with the very fine plaid? Oh Mein Gott in Himmel, simply fabulous. Ordering a pair next week. Can’t wait until the FF shads are here either. Not that Oliver and I are doing anything Shadworthy, but if nothing else I just can’t wait to see 'em.[/QUOTE]
Thanks, Coreene! Everything I’ve seen so far from FF is high quality. I have the velvet-collared jacket and it is very nicely made. I’ve been eyeing those plaid breeches for a while now (in my case, the blue) and have tried them on and they are very comfortable.
I have the brown, and thehy have a cream, bluey-lavender and grey in them, so they go with EVERYTHING! (I have the lavender and black fleece pullover, with an awesome hidden kangaroo pocket- I find that a bit narrow through the torso, but nice length for riding!) I just got back from about a 7 mile hack in them (my Simco western has a slick seat, so the full seats are wonderfully grippy!) With half chaps I wasn’t bothered by the raw wind, and no chafes or rubs - even when we floundered through a foot of icy water! (Man, I loff my OTTB!)
I’ve never thrown these in the dryer, but I hang them to dry and they go right back on like new. I’ve even had non-riding teens say they are “cool pants!”
In other words…GET THEM.
I also have a pair of the whites for my dressage dreams; they aren’t as nice a fit as the plaid, but are still NICE quality!
EQUITECTOR BEWARE!!!
I talked with the guy at Equitector and he talked me into custom boots. $600 later they arrived and they don’t fit!!!
I had three different people measure me and we measured EXACTLY according to the specs. on the website. I say watch out.

Also, I’ve been wearing the Fuller Fillies Half Chaps for a year and they have held up GREAT. Love 'em!

As much as I detest Horseloverz, I just saw that they have ProChaps (the nicest half chaps I’ve ever had–way better than Ariat and Tredstep, IMO) on sale for 50% off. Tons of calf sizes up to XXL (so up to 20" or so), and heights from 15-19". I cannot express how much I love these chaps.

Just got mine today. Speedy shipping, great service, great price, GREAT half chaps! They are fabulous- they live up to the COTH hype And they fit like a glove- the size chart is accurate.
As womanly-sized riders, do you prefer full-seat or knee-patch breeches?
Personally, I’m in a quandary. I’ve always ridden in knee-patch breeches because I didn’t want to feel like I was wearing a diaper, but now I’ve gotten to the point in my riding where a full-seat breech helps to keep me in the saddle (especially during tempi changes), but they feel very constricting, and few companies make breeches of either type in my size range.
Because of another thread here on COTH, I looked at the FITS breeches, which have what they call a segmented seat, where the deerskin doesn’t go across the crotch, but is on either side of the butt. I think that would help me.
My problem is they don’t make them big enough for me.
Do any of you wear the FITS breech, and do they work wll for the more womanly rider?
If you don’t, would you wear them if they made them in bigger sizes?
Selfishly, I’m hoping if there are enough people who show an interest, maybe we can interest them in expanding their size range.
I may be tilting at windmills, but I figured I’d give it a shot.
YAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! SmartPak will start shipping the Fuller Fillies Tall Boots April 30th!
Looking forward to the feedback on the FF boots. Of course, the last thing I need is another pair of boots, but if the consensus is a resounding thumbs up …
Personally, I’ve found exactly one pair of full seat breeches that go over my cows. They’re white, so they’re strictly for show. I do not enjoy wearing them!

Some inside news -
Guys - FF is also doing a peach plaid pair of full seats( with a matching jacket in Taupe ***like the black/brown or blue Brown ones *** same quality as the FF dark plaid and Blue Plaid. [edit]
I have worked a great deal with FF to bring the retro stuff to the US in about 2 weeks - there are a ton of items that have been in Europe for a long time - that we have never seen - and I bought a TON… SOOOO EXCITED.
Also - the huggy chaps - leather ones… I had so many requests for more sizes and talked to Suzanne at FF- she is having XXXL and other requested sizes made for me - to add to the regular sizes. [edit]
Sorry to be so long… good to talk to you all.
Apryl:yes:
Shapely breeches - love their full seats. Horkas too; they have gorgeous Horka breeches on eBay courtesy of a fellow BBer. And TufRider figurefit full seats are nice too. And the Fuller Fillies full seats, too.
I’m sure you guys will be awfully excited for me!
I ordered new field boots and breeches from VTO during their 20% off sale.
The last pair of show breeches I bought were 38s… I wore them through this year with a belt to hold them up.
The pairs I ordered last week were 34s! And they FIT! WELL! This opens up a whole new realm of breeches shopping for me! Like, things on SALE! And cute colors!
I also got a pair of Mountain Horse Richmond High Riders- size 10 wide- and they zip up right over my new breeches!! I’ve been wearing the paddock/full leather half chaps since the zipper went out in my Hispars (which were way to big and oddly shaped anyway!) This is my first pair of off the rack field boots EVER.
I’M. SO. EXCITED.

I have the FF they work great and also had a pair of equissentials power tricot and deerskin full seat tights. I wear them with the FF Sportif in black and they keep my bum stuck - I have lots of young squirrelly colts!! I had them custom made, not any more expensive than off the shelf. Apryl
Apryl, FB message me your #, I will call you tomorrow about the plaid breeches. Then we can have a great dissection about the peach, the brown, the blue, etc.

Congratulations!! I’ve been losing weight myself, and it’s so exciting!
Jods, Chaps and Boots
After much angst with my reintroduction to the equine world last August I have finally found some great fuller figure attire.
I bought my first pair of Jodphurs a couple of weeks ago, 104kg and 1.65m tall and I fit a size 16 Dublin Ladies Hipsta Full Seat jod in black. They fit great, suck it all in and best of all, keep me in the saddle!!!
I have extremely high instep, C - D width feet and retain fluid severely and have found a great boot in the Cavallino Jodphur boot. Combine this with Jodz XL leather chaps for my 18 inch calves and I’m away laughing.
Thanks so much to all you guys for your awesome thread that gave me the confidence to get back into it all.
Okay girls, I took the Fuller Fillies plunge!
After seeing the Fuller Fillies checkmate plaid breeches at The Curvy Cowgirl’s booth at Equine Affaire in Pomona - and I swooned - I was beating myself up for not buying a pair.
So yesterday I took the plunge, called Apryl and bought two, the brown/black and the blue/black. Will give a full report as soon as they arrive.
