Womanly-sized riders, unite!

Wow, Twinkltoz, that is an even better sale price than the State Line here! I bought a pair of the Body Chemistre tights for $20 just before Christmas and thought that was a good deal.
If it was anyone but you I’d be jealous (since you were the first person to welcome me to this thread, and the whole BB, I am just happy for you). And I think I’ll head out to my State Line tomorrow and see if they’ve knocked another $10 off their price by now.

I came across this seller with several “womanly-sized” items on eBay: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZtpmjcmQQhtZ-1 I have no idea who this is, but it looks like she has some nice stuff.

anyone here ever had the Victory Show Boots?

These are the Hispar brand boots that have been mentioned a few times in this thread. I don’t have a pair, but those who have them either love them or hate them. I would get a pair to try, but I prefer no zippers.

PS, anyone looking for breeches 38L, There’s some on ebay.

I bought a pair of the Hispar boots from a lady here on CoTH, and they came today. I’m impressed.

Better quality than all of the other boots I’ve had thusfar, and it even fit my old injured ankle. That was my biggest problem in finding boots. I have one ankle bigger than the other due to a break from a fall years ago. I’m not huge on zippers, but it makes them really easy to put on!!!

Since we’re talking boots…does anyone know where I could get some custom paddock boots without emptying my savings account? I’ve tried wide width and men’s but nothing fits. I did find some western lace up boots last year that sort of fit but they have a smooth sole and I’m constantly slipping in them. The Mountain Horse boots are plenty wide enough but are a bit clunky looking.

Dude. I just got some TuffRider full seats on eBay for $9.99!!!

Hey ladies, check out the Ariat items on clearance on the State Line Tack web site. They have a lot of tops and jackets in size XL and XXL, and they are generously sized, not like your typical riding stuff. I got the long-sleeve Tek jersey III, and rode in it, and it was quite comfy and looked nice.

They also have the DevonAire XXW boots in the State Line catalog, but I couldn’t find them on the web site.

hi can i join the group i am a bbw rider!! i had to get custom chaps taken in taken out taken in and so on, and same with boots so i finally got custom boots with zippers in front so can change the back calf when needed, i am poor now though and unable to get my boots out of the recent rechange size again fix it shop yet.
its hard to find breeches and mostly hard to find shirts but i like mens shirts the best and would still wear a mens shirt and tie if i went back to riding hunters and jumpers, i did for a bit when younger and it was cool and i still won classes dressed “different”
all in all mens clothes have fit me the best so far since i have big shoulders and biceps and straight hips.

I am still really glad I found this thread when I was searching the Web for XL riding clothes last fall.
Since coming here, I have visited other threads and forums on this COTH BB, and this thread is the ONLY one where everybody is consistently nice and helpful to each other. It is one of the very few that hasn’t turned into an off-topic sniping session.
There really is something to be said for those of us who are on this thread, isn’t there–we are great!

GO US!!!

Blundstones run quite wide and have a lace-up version (Cuthbertson). (And they last forever and are super-comfy, and somehow work even if you don’t have wide feet, too.)

This is a great thread, I’d like to add my 2 cents. I have found On Course “shapely” size breechs to fit well. I have wide hips, but a smaller waist. Typically when I find pants that fit my hips, they gap at the waistline. I don’t have that problem with the “shapely” breeches.

The posts about the Iredion sizing was enlightening. I bought a pair of XL and they were way too small. I was wondering “what the heck” when I attempted to put them on! They are still in my closet, with the other too small clothes, I’m hoping to fit into some day.

A quick vent about boot/1/2 chap sizing…I really don’t think my calves are abnormally large…but I all have to do is go shopping for boots to get a complex about them!

I was looking through the Dover sale catalog and it just managed to confuse me even more (but what confuses me the most is why they don’t do Shapely full seats in more colors, and why Dover stocks Tuff Rider but not the Figurefit ones).

Likewise! I’m really happy with mine, but also bummed that there are so few colors available in the 38 Shapely breeches. Looks like I’ll have to skip some cookies in order to wear the neat colors. Ah well.

It woudl be nice if they did the Shapely full seats in colors besides black, white and tan as well.

I second that…

I am a fan of the On Course shapely full seat breeches, they are the best fit for me by far but like the above poster I wish they had a wider selection of colors!!! A nice blue or a sassy red would be soooo great, I would even be happy with a nice grey!!!

Yeah, even the regular (not the shapely) On Course full seats in the larger sizes only come in black, tan, and white. No navy or grey or beige. Irideon has a better selection of colors in their plus-size breeches.

Talking of breeches colors–I really would love a pair of the purple ones with the print full seat. A friend of mine has some but they don’t come in my size! And I would like a pair of the black ones with the bright color trim, but they don’t come in my size either.
Oh, well. I do love my newish blue Polartec ones in the cold weather we’ve been having. And it was warm enough today I could’ve worn my $20 Body Chemistre tights:)

P.S. Can I join the I don’t have any business doing dressage but I do it anyway Clique?
