You had to return a SECOND pair?! Oy!
Oh dear…I don’t know if any of you are fans of What Not to Wear, but I just had a vision of the blonde flight attendant who BeDazzles everything…oh dear! :D:lol:

I’m a big fan of Irideon, particularly the breeches. Much of their stuff is made in the US, lasts fairly well and is very comfy. Used to have to order it online, now many Canadian retailers stock it.

For tall boots, I like Equitector in the UK. I see they are marketing to US foxhunters now. Mid priced boots, wear well (I’m still nursing my four-year-old pair along as schooling boots), fit everyone, with some neat features. My second pair arrived from overseas in a really cool burlap bag marked “Royal Mail.”

Thanks, Vesper!
If you know any of the retailers who carry Irideon up here now, I`d love to know! And thanks about the info for the tall boots!

My local tack store, which also does mail order (Sandridge Saddlery), carries them up to XL but will do a special order for plus sizes. I used to order them from Dover or the Toklat site (the latter had good service). I’ve seen them in a few other places in Quebec, so I imagine some stores in Ontario are carrying them as well. Greenhawk doesn’t carry Irideon, however.

In Ontario, Doonaree and Bahr’s both carry Irideon or did last time I was buying.

Thanks! I wish Greenhawk carried more name brand stuff…I find that their own line of things can be really hit and miss.

She was pretty snarky to me, too… :frowning:

Darling, we have been good friends for how many years now? Almost 12? You just consider your good pal Coreene your personal shopper when it comes to finding great show clothes. I can find anything.

I even have rust breeches coming soon to fit my fat ass. Imagine, on my big blackie pony, rust breeches with the olive coat and brown boots / helmet / gloves / spur straps. All loffly with a pale yellow shirt. Or light blue.

And the blue windowpane coat with puke breeches and a slightly brighter blue shirt. Or pink. Or lavender, because the windowpane is pink.

Or rust breeches with a BROWN TWEED COAT.

And not a FF in sight.

Honestly, I’ve found the quality of their things to be quite good - my full seats need a quick zigzag stitch after several years of hugging my round butt  - I haven’t worn out one single thing out of their clothes. BUT… when you don’t seem interested in your customer’s wants or needs (I am still not going to be “over” my boots until I have a pair on my feet), and en plus you get snarky on a public forum with more than one customer who is not deserving it (sorry to hear that, Weatherford!), then yeah…people are going to want to spend their money where they feel welcome.

Agree. Don’t like their breeches at all. Tend to go there for the more utilitarian stuff like lead ropes and saddle pads. Some of the horse blankets have been OK, others horrible.

My local one has a used tack loft that can be pretty good if you luck out. If you are ever down in extreme Upper Canada  it’s worth the drive to WNY to go to Stagecoach West!
Dee

Dee, yep… two pairs. Both with less than a few months use.

LOL. I do plan to check out Bahr’s when in I’m Middle Upper Canada later this month.

Coreene, where did you find rust breeches in bigger sizes? Yes I am a DQ who wants a pair of rust breeches!

The front zips are $30 more. You can call and order them in a regular rise.

Must get a pair of dress boots for USEF/USDF dressage show in November. Which ones should I get – Fuller Fillies (back ordered once again), Hispar’s (which model), or Equitector?

I know you did Dee- you contacted me about it and I sorted it for you? This isn’t really about Retailers stocking our product though is it? THIS was about Couriers between the USA and Canada as I recall?
Unfortunately, all we can do is sell the product to reputable Retailers and then anything beyond that is up to them; this was one of our better Retailers who carries a lot of stock… we just couldn’t keep up tot he demand for the boots she was trying to replace for you after the Courier lost two pairs. She is well out of pocket on this but did all she could to try to reimburse you. I think this was the problem - you wanted to hang on for a product that we couldn’t supply her with in a timely fashion…
SmartPak carry loads Dee but I know they don’t sell n Canada as we asked them to do this for us when they were our Wholesale Distributor. Seems Canada is a nightmare in many ways when dealing with it from the USA. Have you tried Bahr Saddlery in Ontario?[/QUOTE]

Something interesting - arent boots are made in Pakistan or something?..I got mine fine - but can see how the boots would get hung up at the border - since Canada does not allow boots with that country of origin to pass — if they catch it that is!!! I wonder if that is what happened… I love mine – why cant manufacturers have stuff made here??

I have two pair of Hispar field boots, and the ones I got this year are much better quality than from a few years ago. I think the bottoms of the FFs look like Doc Martens.

I always pull the boots on, I don’t use the zips.

I’d vote for Equitector. Still working on wearing my first pair out for schooling and bought a second pair for shows. I like the fact that they’re warm and the steel toes protect me from my mare’s big “turf feet”. I lost some weight and the second pair is slightly too wide for me so if your calf measurement falls right in the middle (mine is just over 17 inches now I think… used to be just over 18), I wouldn’t go for the widest version but the second down since they do stretch. Similarly, I got the short the first time and I really needed the medium height.

I agree about wanting things made in North America…but there is no truth in the idea that Pakistan-made goods are not allowed in; they are a member of the WTO (World Trade Organization) - and Bahrs is able to sell them, so they are able to be imported.
The whole issue was…the sender only gave me a tracking number ONCE on the one (wrong height) pair that made it here…each and every other “attempt” I never had ANY tracking or confirmation given…but a whole load of excuses and evasions. The individual said that she was pursuing both the USPS and FedEx for “lost” shipments…so why not give me the tracking number you’d need to do it?
Real shame…I was ready to send a lot more business that way.
