Somantu, did you find any of your saddles here in ON?
Thanks!
Dee
Yes!
The used one I found at Baker’s in Gormley. The other I ordered from the County Rep for Quebec and Ontario. She’s a fantastic woman named Erin Wilson. She comes to the area regularly. Erin also fits my saddles every spring.
For dressage, I love my Amerigo Cortina. It has a more forward cut flat and an open seat, which is great for my larger thigh. I also now have a Borne Contour Open Seat, which also allows room for my thigh. Both are 18s and fit me great.
Oh and the Amerigo is a curved tree and has space for a long wither which works perfectly on my TB with moderate to high wither. The Borne model I have is great for a flat backed horse like Rex.
You know who makes nice coats that go to bigger sizes? Lakeshire. Got one NWT for a song and love the quality.
That is awesome to know Coreene. I have looked at them online and have debated.
Thanks everyone for the saddle info. My current saddle is a vintage 18" barnsby that is a decent fit for Sport, but not 100%. When he has to carry my extra weight i think saddle fit is really important. I have made the decision to go with the custom fit Antares. This decision was easier to make as I managed to win some money recently and it helped increase the saddle budget.
Duet has some saddles with larger seats
Duett Fidelio (deep seated dressage saddle)… 34m tree fits my Appy beautifully 20" seat (medium twist) gives me plenty of room…especially after losing 30lbs. Very comfy.
saddle
sport, what tree do you need? I saw a 19 inch Eventing Rembrandt on Bits & Barter, it looked nice. It’s a med tree, but it’s black, seems like the price is right if it is what you want.
There’s also a 18 " wide Stackhouse for sale on Bits and Barter previously ridden in by a womanly sized woman… wink wink, nudge, nudge
Thanks everyequine and chocomare. Part of my problem is Sport has really high and long withers if that makes any sense, so something that fits me is only part of the problem.
I have tried so many saddles on him, that I think I have lost track.
I would be really worried about ordering a saddle on-line for that reason.

Coreene, where can I find the Lakeshire clothing?
I will have a peek, I know some of the smaller retailers carry them. Love the coat.
Horse, Riders, etc have them I believe.
You can find them on eBay too.
anyone notice the other “United” threads? They will never be what we are!! LOL
Velvet came on this thread recently, made a bitchy comment and no one reacted. She has to get attention somehow!
Oh and EE, totally unrelated but are you still doing the eyeglasses thing? I am getting a pair in the next few weeks and will send you my old ones if you are. Giorgio Armani for the exceptionally nearsighted!

She seems to be bitchy on every thread… It must suck to be so miserable all the time…

yes, still collecting glasses. I’d happily send some over to someone in need. If you want to mention it to any of the other ladies in the barn, or friends, send me as many as you want.
They can be empty frames too, lenses will be put in when they find the right fit for someone who needs them.
Back to the other comment…soo sad… we have been quietly playing nicely over here all by ourselves…with a nice informative thread.
I ride in a older Crosby California PDN which I LOVE! Very comfy not like the pancake PDN. For dressage I have a new Collegiate Mentor. I really like it, puts me in a good position and I feel secure. I had an older collegiate Baron which I loved but it went up in a barn fire ;(
Coreene, I checked out Horse and rider and she’s sellling out all of her Lakeshire stuff, only has smaller sizes left and has replaced it with Fuller Fillies! I would love to find a nice dressage coat that fits over the Ta-Ta’s. The ovation and the RC Classics dont quite work…didnt have a very good experience with “the Collection” people(rude)…Any Ideas?
@coreeene do hispars come in short? Im a whole 14" from heel to kneew
