Womanly-sized riders, unite!

Horseloverz has Wellington show jackets on sale (probably for another 10 hours or so) for $30.00. Lots of plus sizes available. If I didn’t already have 2, I’d be buying more. Still tempted but I really don’t need more than 2.

RJ Classic has show quality breeches in larger sizes, they are more generously cut than many of the brands as well. I wear a 38 in Tailoreds and my 36 RJ’s could probably be sized down to a 34.

Just wanted to say I received my Asmar coat and it is a wonderful fit! I bought the xxl and it was a perfect fit for a size 18 and big busted figure. The sleeves are uber long but that is the only thing that needs to be tailored

I am going to ride in my Asmar for first time this weekend at a show; I had to have it altered too but it was sleeves and waist length. Enjoy it!

Thank you guys for the links – I searched and searched recently for a show coat and had no idea the EA eventer coat came in super extra huge!! It might even fit ME!

I have also just bought the Ovation Flex Field Boot and not only does the XXW fit me off the rack, it is a little big at the top. Love the stretch panel, and I might have been able to get away with the XW, but didn’t have them to try and compare. I have an 18" calf on the left and 17.5 on the right, but have a dip in at the top, and they were a bit big there.

I splurged at Red Hills, after spending a five days with my vendor booth next to the La Mundial vendor and ordered their custom boots. I had really wanted a dress boot and finally couldn’t stand it any more!

They should be here by June and I can do a report them as to how they fit fluffier riders.

Wheee!

Bensmom – Love Your Soap! Will you be at Rolex?

I been thinking about a new pair of custom dress boots, since mine at about 15 years old. Effinghams when custom was only $500.00 :frowning: Can I ask how much La Mundial cost? Besides wide calf – I have a short leg. :frowning: See my previous post, Fuller Fillies didn’t work for me, zippers always opened when I rode.

Dale Area 1, did you try putting a tie through the pull and looping it around the elastic closure tab? My FF boots did the same thing when they were tighter, and this was a simple fix.

I tried, but the zipper still went down. So I went to the cobbler and the zipper did not have a “locking” feature. I even thought of a safety pin or special thing that could hold the zipper up. Gave up and sold both pairs on Ebay.

Dale – my first pair were Effinghams too. So sad when they weren’t available when I was ready for new ones!

The La Mundials were $750, which, while painful, won’t be too bad if they can really make something to fit my weirdly shaped legs!

Glad you like the soap! I’m not going to be at Rolex, as our family reunion is the same weekend and we are the hosts! Grrrrr – I tried to reschedule it, but the CPAs in the family refuse to do it before the 15th of April and the only other April weekend was Easter. :frowning:

NEXT YEAR, tho!!

Does ff still have the dress boots?

Not only does Fuller Fillies not have the dress boots, trying to get any of their boots is nearly impossible at the moment, even for retailers.

I could not find any dress boots that would fit a 17+" calf off the shelf. I was faced with the choice to either purchase a pair that fit everywhere else that my local cobbler could add additional leather to extend the calf (they did a great job the last time I did that) or to order custom ones. The dress boots I had my eye on were $400 or so, and would have cost between $150-200 to alter, so I just went ahead and did the La Mundials. Now we wait and see if they fit!

For the off the shelf fit in the field boot, that Ovation Flex’s stretch panel is a winner – and fwiw, their online size chart doesn’t indicate that the XXW will go that big, but it does. I was fortunate that my local retailer knew that and talked me into trying them, though she had to order them for me.

Just want to report that my fluffy, large-busted self bought a Tipperary Ride Lite safety vest recently in a large, and it is perfect. Plenty of room and is very adjustable.

They’re back!!! http://www.fuller-fillies.co.uk/7-boots-half-chaps-gaiters

My custom half chaps recently died and I was in the process of retiring, so didn’t want to spend a ton on replacements until I saw how my pension would hold out per month. I ended up finding a pair of 1/2 chaps on the Horze website for short wide calves. The style is called Amara and the best part was they were only $35.95 and came in chocolate brown and black. They had a very detailed measurement chart which made it easy to get the correct size. While the quality is not as nice as my customs, they have been holding up to trail riding with no problems.

UPDATE on the Fuller Fillies site – They ship to the USA via FedEx International. I ordered a pair of the Country Boots (like Dubarry’s) on Monday and they’ll be here in Georgia by tomorrow at 10:30. Shazam!

They’re here and THEY FIT PERFECTLY! If you’ve been dying for a pair of Dubarry’s or Dublins but know your calf muscle won’t fit, order a pair from FF.

ChocoMare, how do they fit in the foot? I have wide feet so when I buy shoes, the size is kind of a sliding scale - 7/7.5 if the shoes come in D or wider, upsize to 8 if the shoes come in a C width and don’t buy them at all if they only come in B width.

I wear a US 8 1/2 Wide normally, so went with the UK 7 (equivalent to US 9). As normal, most of us have one foot slightly wider than the other, so the right fits 100% perfect and the left a wee bit tight but not painfully so–totally tolerable… and since they’re real leather, it’ll stretch a bit.

If you have thick socks on tho, no way would it work.

Here’s another great thing. Irideon Thermaluxe tights in sizes 1x-3x designed to be an underlayer for breeches. I ordered them from Adams Horse Supplies, they were in the mid-$30 range. I have their Windpro winter breeches (also available in plus sizes) but would like to be able to add another layer when it is almost too cold to ride. The Windpros have gone up quite a bit in price, so this offers another option to ride in regular breeches with tights and get more years out of the Windpros.

Anybody have the Dublin Etsuary talls? I’m wanting something waterproof to wear to work on rainy days. I have a very small, wide foot. Calf isn’t skinny but not XW,either.
I can’t seem to fit into anything but Birkenstocks anymore.
