Womanly-sized riders, unite!
on ridersmall.com it seems as though you can get them without a zipper in the back. Im thinking of doing that because I HATE the look of the zipper.

Anyone have them w/o the zipper? Im kind of wondering if they really come without the zipper?

thanks! :)
I saw that as well, I’m just thinking it they might be too ‘chunky’ in the ankle area. If you know what I mean, because a lot of them without the zipper tend to be made that way.

I think know what you mean, Kind of like this:

but it seems to me like that will happen anyway, because of the drop when they get broken in. I really just hate the look of the zipper on this particular boot- it looks icky b/c of the elastic. My trainer hates zippers as well. I ordered them without the zipper–but like I said im not sure that they even come w/o the zipper. It might be a mis-print. Either way I like the boot because its quality and it actually fits!!

Large Size Half Chaps = www.aretesaddlery.com :)
And if you want something that quality-wise blows the Aretes out of the water (but costs more than double), try http://www.prochaps.com (I ordered through my local tackshop and they were cheaper than the manufacturer’s website).

I know if you get the full-custom option you can choose zipper or no zipper. Anywho, please let me know how they look and what the quality is like! I would love to know, because I think I’m going to have to go custom to get a boot that fits! They look nice, but I have never seen them in person!

Pintopiaffe, I have both the Hanes and Champion high impact ones. I like the Hanes a little better, actually, for riding (they’re…stiffer? maybe), but the Champion ones are fine for cleaning stalls and stuff (I work in a barn). But I’m a 38D, so I’m not sure how they work if you’re bigger than D cup. Also some of the Champion ones are made out of some kind of spandexy material which makes me break out when it’s very hot, or if a tiny piece of hay gets inside. I did also try the no-bounce bra from Dover, but it was a little TOO smushy, and too expensive for me. I have a couple of Shock Absorber ones I got at TJ Maxx–I think they’re British–which are the best, but they’re a total PITA to put on.

will do!

PP, the most supportive sports bra I have found is this one from Just My Size. It’s pretty cheap, and comes in a good variety of sizes. I have basically no boobs, which makes finding bras in big enough band sizes kind of tough, which is why I tried this one. I find it a little too constricting even in a big enough band size (because it’s less stretchy than my usual bras), and more supportive than I really need for my B-cups, so it may be just the ticket for you.

It also comes in a front hook, racerback version.

Enell bra trick: If your girls are set a bit higher than Enell brastraps are set for, or you’ve lost weight, and the main part of the bra is getting loose, but the lower band is still snug, you can put the bra on as usual, hike the girls up into place, and then flip the lower band up. Works great for me, YMMV…

I’ll have to try that, I think I am between sizes, and the top part was not snug on the one I bought, but the “girth” area was right. I was disappointed, but maybe with your technique it will work. Another reason why I love this thread.

42" breeches on eBay

I saw a couple pairs of these breeches on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Millers-Side-Zip-Riding-Pants-Breeches-42R-beige_W0QQitemZ140210630011QQihZ004QQcategoryZ3155QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I don’t know anything about the seller, but I do have a few pairs of these breeches and I like them more than my Tailored Sportsmans because they’re washable.

Goddess makes a FABULOUS sports bra that (a) is uber supportive and (b) doesn’t mash me into a giant Uniboob. It’s not cheap, but man is it ever comfy! Goes up to at least a DDD and I believe even larger than that.

g.r.a.s.s. by kerrits?

Apparently Kerrits has an offshoot eco-friendly line (I saw it in the new Dover catalog). I’m interested in the synergy breech, looks like a good one for summertime. Anyone know anything about this new line, fabric feel (and thickness!), sizing/fit, etc?

Just wanted to let everyone know about the Harry Hall body protector I picked up on eBay… The XL will fit up to a 46" chest measurement and it’s Beta 3 approved. It reminds me of the CO vests, but with much more comfortable foam. The best part is (after of course the fact that it really does fit a 46" chest, hooray!) is that it was only 100$, including shipping!

Also for anyone looking for one of those microfiber show shirts, I’d check out Kerrits Ventilator, it goes up to a 2x which fits a 46"-48" chest measurement and has a loop for a stock tie.

New Arete Half Chaps!

Arete Saddlery now has a new type of half chap that I am longing to buy!

Plus Size:http://www.aretesaddlery.com/tack/apparel/chaps/iberian-ii-plus-sizes/prod_218.html
Regular Size:http://www.aretesaddlery.com/tack/apparel/chaps/iberian-ii/prod_217.html

Someone please buy them and tell me how they are!

OOOH! I have a Kerrits Ventilator, and I LOVE it! It is very breathable and loose fitting. I bought an XL and I had tons of room to spare. I bought an XL of a different brand but same type of shirt, and I can barely squeeze in.

LADIES! You must, must, must try RJ Classics if you are looking for jackets.

I emailed The Collection ( http://www.thecollectiononlinestore.com ) before Equine Affaire, and sprinted over to the booth while there and the owner, Robin, made me walk away from her, turn around… told the sales assistant “14 short” to which I stuttered, stammered, said “Thank you, but really you don’t understand…” The assistant whispered “Just wait, she has a GIFT for this…” Pulled out a 14s, and to my utter shock, it was PERFECT.

Mind you I’m anywhere from a 14 to an 18W in tops (and 37DD at the moment).

So, I get the recent email about clearance prices. She has the “celedon” green with lavender pinstripe (it’s very subtle, really!) in 14s. I order. I panic. REALLY that size couldn’t have been right. It’s not going to fit. It’s going to look awful, and closeouts are non-returnable.

I also panicked my way into buying the plum lined shadbelly. They are not doing that colour any more. She had ONE left in a 14. I am not ready for a shad yet. But… I have coveted the plum lined for two years, since I first saw it. The price was unbelieveably cheap. (but also non-returnable.) But it was her LAST one… AAAGGHHH!!!

Well, both arrived… and the shad is TO DIE FOR!! Fits perfectly. Is gorgeous. I can’t even tell you how inpsired I am that we GET to PSG so I finally get to WEAR it. It’s like I want to hang it out in the livingroom to LOOK at it daily for inspiration… Alas, it will fade eventually given that. I must content myself to peeks at it where it hangs.

Got the hunt jacket today. It too fits perfectly, PERFECTLY. I’m not used to clothes that actually FIT. I usually have to order up to get them roomy enough in the shoulders and chest and hips. I’m used to wearing EVERYTHING big. This FITS. It is gorgeous. And $75.

You WILL see me at summer schooling shows in a gorgeous dark grey/green jacket, rather than the stuffy black dressage frock.

My next purchase from her will be a dressage frock. I have no doubt it will fit perfectly.

I can’t express to you how lovely the fit is. They have sizes up to 22 & 24 I believe–and they are TRUE sizes, without being boxy and unflattering. And they relate to TRUE department store sizes, not Wal*mart sizes, and CERTAINLY not “riding clothes” sizes. They aren’t the cheapest, but I won’t need tailoring for a while yet. (the shad might actually need to be taken in if I get to my goal weight–right now I could show in it tomorrow though.)

Check them out. Email Robin. The clearance deals right now are ridiculous. I don’t NEED a hunt jacket. I have a dressage frock. I’m SO TICKLED I got it. (it will also double for funerals, court and interviews. So I can at least justify!)

Thanks to those with the bra suggestions. I tried the Champion with underwire/cups, and it’s a complete no-go. Cups aren’t big enough, the girls smoosh together so the profile is uniboob, and the front view looks like really, really bad plumbers backside. :dead: Will look into the others. Will DEFINITELY try the bottom-band idea on the Enell. That might just be it until I’m down to the next size!

Sorry, just to reiterate–sale RIGHT NOW–jackets for $75, sizes up to 24.

I am a “believer” in Robin - love her - but Pintopiaffe, the site is www.thecollectiononlinestore.com - just want the girls and guys to find her, we can share, right?

:o oooh! Thank you! I fixed my links.

There are also some RJ Classics on eBay right now. I know I saw some 14’s…

Oh Pintopiaffe, I did it - she put a great dark navy coat with blue windowpane, 5681 is now on sale for $100! Dark enough for low level dressage???

By the way, some shirts are on sale, too.

Better give her credit www.thecollectiononlinestore.com
