This may have been answered somewhere in the 73 pages, but where do you all find boot socks for “extra curvy” calves?[/QUOTE]

Z a few years back I ordered some plus calf trouser socks and they were tall enough and stretchy enough to wear with boots. They were not flimsy, and held up well. as a matter of fact I think I still have some with tags on them! I’ll look later for the brand, and post it.

I’ll check on your boots too…

Tack of the day has ariat jackets and vests in sizes up to XXL on today.

Possible occasional use knee boots

I get a catalog from Woman Within (www.womanwithin.com)
and one of the items are leather knee boots with wide calf and
comes in W and WW widths as well as M width. These have
a zipper which is probably on the inside (can’t see it in the pictures
I am seeing) and they are not as calf shapely as riding boots
and are probably not of as heavy leather. But the price is
$60-$65 per pair (depending on what size you wear), they do
come in black, they have a 1.25" heel, and they would probably
look reasonable while you rode a dressage test or a jumping round.
I’d consider getting a pair except they are likely too high for my
short legs and they are definately too long as the sizes start at
7 and I need a 6. But they might be a reasonable show ring
solution for someone else.

If anyone does decide to try these, let me know before you order and
I will share the various promo codes the company has supplied to me
for free shipping and purchase discounts.

And I just got one for myself and one for my trainer for x-mas!! (I had to guess on her size. I hope it fits!!)

Thanks for the heads up!

Yippee!! Thanks!

BAD LEWIN, BAD LEWIN, WHATCHA GONNA DO???

Bad, bad, bad. SO bad. Bad on so many levels. Girl - I have a big stack of vests from Avenue that are now too big. Along with 1000000000000 pairs of Ralph jeans that are too big. And here you are dangling replacements in front of me?

Bad, bad Lewin.

That said, I did breathe a sigh of relief when I saw that the beautiful vests are all too light colored for a slob like me. Come bring Ollie’s girlfriend over to see his Pimp My Ride new red custom Mattes pad when it arrives (I can justify it: it was on eBay for 84 Euros and I bought it for my combined birthday/Christmas present).

HALF-CHAP ALERT!!! Dressy, stiffish, tall boot looking half-chaps…

Ladies! Heads up!

I ordered a pair of the “Tough 1 Half Chaps” from Equiteric on Ebay (Horseloverz) There is no sizing chart. I think I found one somewhere else and went on a gamble… I was really, really worried they’d be way too small.

Well, they measure just slightly larger than 18.5 WITHOUT the elastic stretched at all, and there is elastic on both sides of the zipper.

They are SUPER nice, thick leather with exceptional “Tall Boot” look, spanish tops. I can measure further if anyone needs.

Sadly, they are far, FAR too big for me. I take a 16.5-17" calf (at least I used to–guess I should remeasure!) And these have an inch or two to spare–I’m swimming in them, too big even to bother trying to get them altered. For comparison’s sake, I fit into the XL old Ariat half-chaps, comfortably now, maybe slightly loosely, but not loose enough to go down a size. So these are at least one, if not two sizes up from that.

One of those ebay oops-es, but sort-of worth it to find out.

Thanks for the info!

ebay tall boots!! they are big for me as i have a small feet but i thought of coth when i saw them@!

Um…did you need someone to take them off your hands?
Dee

For those of you who have access to Ross stores, there are numerous fleece vests for sale in black and brown in plus sizes for $9.99. Nothing fancy, but cheap and comfy.

AGGH – those are still on there, huh? Wish I had the money for them, because, as luck would have it, they would fit me pretty well with a little adjustment to make the calf a titch smaller.

Spanx

Hello all,

Thinking about getting show ready for next year (hunters) and was reading previous posts for Spanx. Unfortunately I carry most of my weight between my shoulders and my hips, as in no butt and thighs. What would the Spanx wearers out there recommend for me? I went to the web site and there are so many choices?? Sizing? I wear a 24 hunt coat and 34 breech. Typical apple shape. Help!

Thanks

Pam

I dunno, the light blue ones look dark enough to be stain resistant, and they say they have adjustable buttons for making the waist smaller. And they are only 30 bucks! Ollie’s girlfriend is way jealous that he gets a RED mattes saddle pad. (It would match the red rhinestone browband that she has had for years.) Unfortunately her couturier (aka saddlemaker) has stated that the saddle fits perfectly and the fluffy half-pads were retired.

Anyone have any suggestions for SHORT big-calf half chaps?

My calves are not actually unreasonably huge (17-18"ish- I think the Ariat XLs would fit around) but I’m kind of, well, short. And a lot of half chaps seem to go up in length as they go out in width, and I think max I’d need 15" tall, which would leave me looking Very Silly Indeed in most of the half chaps I’ve seen online.

Alternatively, anyone know how expensive/possible it is to get half-chaps shortened without them looking completely ridiculous afterwards?

So what, she’s dumped Smokey or she’s two timing? I am not going to tell him, it would break his heart.

I was wondering whether the “catalope” color is similar to jackalope?

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ve saved the info for future reference. I was visiting a friend this weekend and we ended up shopping and I was able to get some breeches that fit. I am now inspired to go to the gym…

Treadstone Boots

I don’t know if these have been discussed in the last 74 pages or not…

I was in one of my local tack shops today and saw (on the display) Treadstone XXW calf field boots. They just so happened to be a 10, so I zipped them on. This is the first pair of off the shelf boots I have been able to put on in quite a long time. They fit, and they looked great! So, even though I have a pair of Vogels (I had to splurge on customs for my fat calves) I bought a pair to school in and beat up. The best part, they were $249.00! Just thought I’d share my excitement

She is just checking out the menu. And Smokey would never believe that she does not adore him; no matter how much time she spends ignoring him. I noticed the catalope color along with the corMflower.
