Yep, you’re right. His obliviousness to equine social cues is pretty legendary
OK, so I did a search through this thread but came up with zilch. Does anyone have a clue as to where I might be able to find a plus sized melton coat for foxhunting? Even more impossible, one that’s reasonably priced? :sigh: I’ve been invited to go hilltopping, and although my friend says that she has one I could wear, I’m concerned that it may not fit since I am pretty well-endowed (dammit). Just trying to think ahead and get my ducks in a row. Not sure I’ll even be able to go, but I figured I’d start looking. I’ve been scoping ebay, but haven’t seen anything in my size. Any suggestions are appreciated…
TIA!

Ovation makes one. They go up to size 20. (I think)
Did you look at Fuller Fillies? I know she has hacking jackets, she might have black melton ones too.
This is why I love this BB…you guys are the greatest! Thank you!
I did check the Fuller Fillies website, but I didn’t see any meltons. I had sooooo hoped! Maybe that’s something they would consider looking into making as I would think there could be a decent market for it. If I don’t find one, it’s definitely going on my wish list for next year. Along with brown field boots and a smart looking cubbing jacket.
Finally posting!! (with gratitude)
Now that I’ve read thousands of posts over the past few days (my poor bleary eyes!), I wanted to say hello and thank you for so much information and insight. I feel as though I’ve gotten to know many of you well…like having a new group of riding buddies.
And this evening I’m heading to a “local” tack shop to check out the Fuller Fillies line, hoping for half chaps to fit my very wide but very short legs (so glad to read I’m not unique there!). It’s about an hour’s drive, but worth it if I can actually try on.
Irideon 3 Season breeches
Hey guys. I just bought the Irideon 3 season breeches and wanted to give you some feedback. I am typically a size 18 in pants, so I figured breeches usually run small - and I may want to layer, so I ordered the 2x (20-22! EEEK). Anyways. I got them yesterday and they are LOVELY. But also a little big in the waist, LOL. It appears that these pants run true to size.
On the other hand, I also bought Tuff Rider knee patch tights in an XL (16-18) and they were smaller than that. Or else they didn’t think that a gal that BIG would possibly be curvy, too! I could get them pulled up to the crotch but then they wouldn’t go over my comparatively speaking relatively-non-existent A$$. (I am an apple shape…)
That’s my contribution - thank you ALL for YOUR contributions!
SHOW CLOTHES ALERT!!
The Collection Online store has “plush” show breeches on sale for $100 (typical retail for $224)! They are very similar to TS breeches and I really like the fabric. Sizes 36-42 in the greenish beige!
They also have quite a selection of plush sizes in RJ hunt coats and shirts.
I already placed my order. :D:D:D:D
Ladies, ladies, ladies
Cross your fingers for me; I have a pair of size 34 Pikeur denim breeches on the way! Did a thread last week on fave denim breeches and a kind BBer PT’ed me about a pair that did not work for her, and they are on the way as we speak! My guess is that they won’t work yet, size-wise, but the price was so great that they will be waiting for me until I can wodge my fat ass into them (I have been on a plateau re my diet for FOUR WEEKS so it is sure to break any day now).
You know what would be nice? A quilted barn jacket, not too bulky, with a corduroy collar, in a plush size that actually had a waist and not just a straight line down. Anyone, anyone?
Corinne, what about the Horseware Ireland Victoria jacket? I think this is last year’s model, if you can find it. Their XL (I have the shell and the zip-out quilted lining) fits me fairly well so it should work for you. Congrats on the Pikeurs…

LL Bean makes barn jackets but I find most of their things are boxy.

Welcome!
Thanks, Twnkltoz!
I ended up getting sidetracked on my way to the Massachusetts tack shop that carries the Fuller Fillies line (had to deal with a colicky horse....don't you just love these drastic weather changes??). But I WILL get there soon, and I'll post a report!
Heads up!
Saw an ad for Connoisser Equestrian in some magazine the other day and saw that they also do plush sizes. The prices are a bit dear, but they have some cute stuff. www.connequestrian.com
