Lands End has a nice jacket on sale for $59.90. Women’s Plus Size Weatherly Jacket. It has a Sherpa fleece collar and doesn’t seem like it would be too long to ride in. They also have nice down vest for $19.90. I googled lands end free shipping and got a free shipping offer as well.
No corduroy collar, but nice waist and pockets:
Also, try the regular sizes for more colour options. It sounds like you’ll be out of the fluffy sizes soon!

They also have some cheap Kerrits Cargos in 2x!

I LOVE the Kerrits Cargos. I don’t like the full-seat. They make me feel funky.
Bumping for those from the other thread who have not been here yet
Welcome to the party, sisters!

Hispar Boots
Wow. So I am the plump rider too… and at 17 it can be pretty intimidating riding hunter/jumper with all of our barn girls, jumping 2’ 6" and being the only one weighing over 115 lbs! I have been struggling to find some affordable tall boots to fit my huge calves for a very long time. This summer I came across www.ridersmall.com and their semi-custom calf boots for just $375. I’ve taken the plunge and ordered them last week! From everything I can find online there are mixed reviews on them… but as this is all I can afford that will fit me I’m just crossing my fingers that they will do. I don’t show often and when I do, it’s not big shows. I only ride 1-2 times a week (senior in highschool + a barn an hour away= very little riding time) so hopefully they will be suitable for me… I don’t have high expectations, I just need something to do the job. What do you ladies think?
Katie
P.S- I’m so glad to find a bulletin board about this! The only rider in my family and only heavy english rider at my barn I feel pretty lonely in my issues…

Well, Hispar has a very good quality leather. I got hispar’s in the past year, and had problems:

Since yours are 1/2 customs, you should be ok.
I had to get mine re-shaped, etc.
Simply Red. Glad you could join us. Ive found some great deals because of the thread.
I have found…
Thanks! I have found many awesome sites just browsing through the thread today… I never knew how many options there were out there! I’d also like to ask another question… how large of a horse do you guys ride? I currently ride a 16.2 Tb/Warmblood Cross who works well for me. I once rode a Belgian Draft (I trained him to jump!) Who was amazingly fun and I loved him dearly, he just wasn’t as talented of a horse as I would like. I would love to someday get a Percheron or Clydesdale cross!! I love the big guys so having to ride them really doesn’t bother me too much. Just something I was wondering about (and who doesn’t love an opportunity to talk about their favorite horse? ;))
Just wondering!
Katie
I own/ride what you want! Sorry, you can’t have them.

Wow!
Wow, they are both drop dead gorgeous! Haha too bad I can’t have them! ;D Do you jump them(looks like a close contact saddle on tank!) or what discipline do you ride?
I trail ride and teach lessons. No jumping for Tank. She has an arthritic hip and, at 16, is too old to be launching her 2,000 pounds over anything
Penny I have jumped and she jumps nicely…when it’s worth her while. She doesn’t believe that anything under two feet is worth the effort.
Both are ridden in Duett Rondo A/P’s…Tank’s is a Rondo 1/Black and Penny’s is a Rondo 2/Brown. I LOVE THEM! Uber comfy, deep seat, very well made.
Lol that’s how the belgian I jumped was… he just stepped over most things (he was 17.2hh) so it didn’t require much jumping but when we got up to 2’ verticals he loved it! Would you mind if I used your pictures of Tank and Penny for a school project? I need examples of different horses suitable to different riders and they are perfect, as long as you don’t mind me using their pictures.
Katie
Envy me, big girls! I have the man of your dreams!

He totally loves to do dressage. My trainer loves him, always raves about him. He’s also a sweet boy and takes care of his mama! (now… we don’t talk about the old days before my trainer!). Apparently he’s got jump, but he’ll keep all 4 feet on the ground with me if I have anything to say about it!
If I could get one just like him in chocolate like ChocoMare’s I’d do it.
I seriously think percherons and crosses have some of the greatest minds there are.
eta: Custom fit Schleese Infinity for us, the fitter was shocked at how wide the muscles in his back are!
Out cubbing on a 15.2h QH/WBx:

Yes, I have a crappy position in that saddle…it sits too low on her back. I needed a bump pad and didn’t have one. She’s my BO’s horse and has been on loan to me to help build up my confidence, but my BO has said that I’ve outgrown her and that it’s time to move on. Which is both good and bad.
And my beautiful, elegant, and kind Pieper, a 16h chestnut TB mare:

Black full seat Shapelys for a good price, size 36:
I’ve had some luck finding breeches at www.victorycanter.com
I know they carry up to a 36in some breeches, so if that’s you give them a look!
