My Wacoal ran a bit small on the around the chest measurement. Mine is a torture device at the moment. The cups, the girls themselves- fabulously presented. Im just a bit constricted. gasp

I know, I just got the TOTD email, grr, I need LONGS! lol
ARRRRGH!
Its happened again–went to a tack store, found a pair of O’Keahey’s tights on sale, bought same. Extra large gives my oh so womanly large lard ass plenty of room. They are long enough in the rise, long enough in the inseam, high enough in the back that I have no crack problem even bending over. This pair is made of Supplex nylon with a soft and fuzzy finish, in a really pretty fawn-taupe sort of shade with really nice knee patches and is THE MOST COMFORTABLE piece of clothing, let alone riding britches, I have ever worn.
Naturally, that was the only pair, and I can find NO source for these on the Internet. I have another pair going on two years old that I have worn to rags, they are cotton, and not anywhere near as wonderful as the supplex, but I would be happy to find another pair of them. Any help out there? Anyone making anything similar in supplex? I spent the better part of my shopping expedition trying on bullet proof scratchy tights and breeces that were cellulite enhancers, low rise, too short, too tight, and damn ugly.

They had a good supply of the O’Keahey’s a while back and I think they might still have some on the racks. They do over-the-phone orders.
OOOOOHHHH LADIES!!!

VEST ALERT!! VEST ALERT!!!
[/B][/I][/U]WallyWorld again. A really, really cute, forgiving velor-ish vest. Peter pan collar, quilted front and back, side panels kind of stretchy.
Comes in dark jeweltones and black. Because of course velour(ish) will attract all sorts of hair and dust etc, it’s more a ‘clinic’ vest than every day. But it’s a forgiving fit and VERY smart.
And… drumroll… $12.
Am I the ultimate WTD shopper or what???
Sizes through 3x in my WallyWorld. Not the hugest selection, I’m not sure how long the’ve been out.
Oh, and I suck. I waited on the vests/jackets from last year that were only slightly redone for this year–they have a whole rack left of Tomato Red. :dead: (NOT my shade)
OOOOH–and COREEEEEENNNNEEE!!! They also have a FABULOUS quilted ‘barn jacket’ in classic ‘barn jacket’ styling, (small quilt, very “British”) with an internal drawstring waist. Sizes regular right through plush. Around $30ish. EXACTLY what you were asking for a few pages ago, no???
oh, PS,
would y’all PLEASE gimme a CHANCE on TotD? :sigh: I worked dayze today… no 36’s or 38’s left.
SHARE, girls, SHARE!
Ah, Jeano, I hear you – I love my supplex O’Keahey’s. I’ve poked around on the internet trying to find more and I get the feeling that the company has either gone out of business or been bought out. I requested my local tack shop to try to find some for me and they’ve had no luck.
Finally got those Fuller Fillies half chaps!
A friend picked them up for me at a not-quite-local tack shop, and I just tried them on. They’re the short, extra-wide, which I thought I would need, but would you believe it…they are too wide! That is a novel experience. They are also just a tad too long, but then I do have ridiculously short legs. These are quite nice, a very supple leather, good zipper, and seem well-made. Fuller Fillies also does a faux-suede version, I believe, which is cheaper. Hopefully, I can order the wide, and deal with the bit of extra length (NO ONE makes anything short enough for me!).
And might I add: To those on this oh so informative, helpful, and entertaining thread…HAPPY, HEALTHY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU AND TO YOUR EQUINE BUDDIES!!
Ladies, I have a very exciting announcement to make!
When I started this thread almost two-and-a-half years ago, I never dreamed it would still be thriving, 78 pages and over 1500 posts later. People have joined the forum because of this thread, and womanly-shaped riders everywhere are now happily clad in riding clothes that fit, thanks to the information shared on this thread. However, your reach has gone a bit farther.
SmartPak has just added a Plus-Size Riders section to their website, and they are researching products to add based on the feedback in this thread! Their selections are still a little limited and some of the brands only go up to 36, but they are working on expanding it. They have studied this thread closely to see what we want and seeing what they can do about it!
I have always been a fan of SmartPak because of their excellent customer service, and this just gives me one more reason to keep liking them. Please, give them some business so they don’t regret their decision! (No, I don’t work for them.)
Happy New Year!
You beat me to it, I was just about to say the same. DELIGHTED that they are doing this, big kudos for recognizing that not everyone wears a 26L.
That is GREAT news! I’ve always enjoyed Smartpak’s service and quality products. Happy shopping for me!
I do see that they’ve added a plus size section…But as far as I can see the products in there have ALWAYS been offered in the sizes they are being offered. This is no news to me! Not trying to be a troll here, just stating what I am seeing. For example. The on course breeches are available up to a 40 in full seats - I’ve seen that size offered in the Dover catalog.
I LOVE smartpak, too…but if they are going to OFFER products such as these, and get KUDOS for it, they should be offering the FULL size run. Otherwise they are no different than the other tack stores except they have a “plus sized” section on their website.

The post said they are currently researching products. Honestly, that in itself is huge. And most stores do NOT carry on course breeches up to 40- they will carry them up to 34 or sometimes 36.
But the exciting news is that they are looking to expand their womanly sized riders clothing- and I say halleluja!
Yes, I hope the sizes are REAL sizes, not tiny 36’s like Ariat’s 36 that I can’t even get on my calf!!

Yes, plus it’s nice to have all of the plus sizes in one place, so you don’t have to go through every brand of breeches until you find one that has larger sizes.
