Womanly-sized riders, unite!

Just got an email… Equestrian Collections has a “Yard Sale” this weekend. Lots of reduced prices, large range of sizes (i.e. womanly) and colors, and $20 Ovation and Devon Aire jackets. I already got mine

If this link does not work, they might be sold out…

PS- I’ve had good luck with orders from them in the past.

Ooh, great link- also some bras in large sizes!

(not my size, unfortunately!)

Just ordered two of those- hope they don’t run TOO small or I’ll be back here selling them.

OK, I have a dumb question about the Arrete half-chaps I just bought. Which way around do they go?

Two trainers told me two different things. One said the the strap on the top when done should be pointing out. So I rode them that way for the next lesson with the other trainer; then I was told I had them on wrong, the zipper should be on the outside. I can’t figure out how to wear them so the zipper is on the outside and the top strap is pointing out.

Here’s a link to them. http://www.aretesaddlery.com/tack/apparel/chaps/neo-classic-ii-half-chaps/prod_282.html

Zippers on the outside! I don’t think the strap needs to be “pointing” out, but should be on the back or outside of your leg and not beween you and the horse!

For you half chap people, I bought a pair of half chaps from my local tack store. They are Treadstone brand and size XXL. I havent found them online yet but I have an 18.25 calf and when you FIRST put them on they are hard to zip but it is b/c the elastic hasnt loosened up. I can now put them on with no struggling AT ALL. I love them b/c they are thin and soft and not thick and bulky like my MH tall boots. And they were under $100.

Thanks Ambrey. Honestly with these chaps I’m confused. I thought the zipper went on the outside so that’s how I first put them on. They’re super comfortable that way but the flap around the zipper bows out a little and doesn’t look as tidy. When I switched to where the zipper is more to the inside (not between me and the horse of course but just more to the inside) the zipper flap closes up really neatly and looks better. They feel the same either way. These manufacturers should put an L and R inside them, LOL.

Then wear them how they look/feel good. If someone complains tell them that they feel better that way and you’re going to buck the trend

Great deals on RJ jackets and shirts at The Collection

Haven’t checked in on this thread in a while so don’t know if anyone else has mentioned that Robin at The Collection has some GREAT deals going and larger sizes available. I got a sz 24 coat for $25 with free shipping. web site is:

A few pages back, someone posted about Treadstone field boots now coming in an extra extra wide width. I checked out the website and according to measurements they appear they will fit and look like a nice boot.
Now my problem. It doesn’t appear that the Canadian distributer can get these boots. Has anyone seen them in a shop, or know where I would be able to order them from in the US.

Why not find a UK store that sells them and order there? US import duties on leather goods is high so the cost will be less if you get them from the UK.

Well I just found out today that I’ve been wearing them backwards (I put the front on the back of my leg) So no matter how I switched legs, they were still on wrong. Now I got it figured out and BOTH trainers were right, LOL.

Oh, LOL! Yeah, the stretchy stuff goes in back!

Fuller Fillies & SmartPak Alert

SmartPak is now a U.S. distributer for the Fuller Fillies line! They have Fuller Fillies items on their site under plus-size riders. They have also expanded their other plus sized items. Vote with your pocket book and make sure SmartPak knows that you appreciate their changes!!!

SmartPak Plus Size Rider Section

I am dying for a pair of TR Enduracools, and they are 40% off on the Tropical Rider site! (XL up to 36" waist, so only for moderately fluffy riders). Not sure I can justify it, but I’ve been wanting deerskin seats forever…

I’m still drooling over the Fuller Fillies’ Vixen tweed show jacket. Good thing Smart Pak doesn’t ship to Canada.

Just a quick question-

Have any of you guys tried Hydroxycut? I just bought it after reading a bit about it online and seeing the commercials. Did it work for you if you tried it? How soon did you see the results?

 Thanks!

Equus Now, a fantastic tack store outside of Columbus, Ohio with totally awesome customer service, has them. I was there on Sunday and they were having a 20% off sale store wide, so maybe that’s still happening? http://www.equusnow.com/prodview.asp?idProduct=2579

Bucks County Saddlery in Pennsylvania also has them on their stock list:

In an ironic twist of fate, I have my Treadstone boots on my feet right now (9XW, height 19" width 16 and 1/8") and they are loffly. I bought them last year and didn’t need them until now–horsie and I are showing again in two weeks for the first time in nearly three years–and boy did I enjoy dusting them off. What a nice set of boots for this price range–I was fortunate to find mine on Ebay for a song, but now that I have them, they’re well worth $250.
