Pink and olive green if I remember correctly. Gorgeous!

Hey there everyone, I just had to post because I am overwhelmingly excited this morning. I was getting dressed to go ride and first put on some breeches that I have not fit into for almost 5! Then after getting those on, I said ah hell lets just try on my tall boots and see where I am at with those, and THEY ZIPPED!! All the way up, the ankle was a little stiff but they have been in my closet for 5 years also. So needless to say, if my ride goes as good as everything else this morning I will so be on cloud nine.

Fantastic!! it’s always a good day when boots and breeches fit!!

ok ladies…

no-to-expensive plus size dressage boots and dressage coats?

What size? Tuff-Rider dressage coats are on sale right now at horseloverz.

and Ovation boots too

but only for the moderately fluffy.

Plus-sized flak jackets…does anyone know where to find them? I would rather have one with some flexibility, rather than the single panel style used in rodeo (though it felt like rodeo last night…one of my OTTBs found a new gear and took control of our ride, and I decided that the wisest move was to bail off at a gallop)…so, I am VERY grateful for my helmet, and think a flak jacket would be a good thing to have.
Any ideas, ladies?
Thanks!
Dee

Are you talking about body protectors? If so, I would suggest a Tipperary or something similar.

I have found that my Tipp allows me to move and feels very nice while riding. I often forget its there (when I use it, which is not often right now). The laces on the sides provide a custom-like feel and allow for plenty of room for larger chested riders (if that applies).

Good luck with your slightly wild OTTB, I hate those rodeo days and seem to be having them quite a bit with mine as well.

You can have custom or stock sizes.

Hey. :]

I’m looking for cheap [under 250, if possible…] field boots. I have an 18 inch calf so I haven’t found any yet…also, are the actual BOOT sizes different? I tried a pair of zip ups on and my foot wouldn’t even fit in it.

http://www.doversaddlery.com/camden-zip-back-field-boot/p/X1-38781/cn/1407/

These go up to 18" depending on boot size.

You’d think with all the plus size breeches and jackets, more companies would make wider calf boots. I can buy a whole ariat outfit and have it fit, yet their largest boots would never in a million years fit my calfs. And it looks like a lot of the people that make cheap wide calf boots make retched looking cuts with huge ankles.

I’m glad my old customs still fit, but they are looking so worn. I will be saving for new customs I think…

Try searching the Eventing forum about “body protectors”. For us larger gals, the most common choices are the Tipperary Phoenix, the Casel-Equi Pro, the Rodney Powell custom, and the Airowear line. You can find stuff pretty easily up to 38-in waist and 42-in chest, but above that it’s pretty much all custom.

A heads up on zips in boots. If you can’t zip into them, just pull them on. If the calf size is fine, they’ll most probably do just fine with boot pulls.

Well I got my new boots from hispar. Beautiful…but…they need some break-in time. They are some stiff leather. I was hoping to show in them this weekend and putting my heel down was ouchy. I am still going to get a gusset put in one of the boots. It was a tad snug still. UGH[/QUOTE]

I have not back-tracked through this whole thread so I need to ask, did you order directly from Nittany? I’m trying to fit a daughter with a 15.5 calf and size 6 foot. Nothing on the shelf, field, dress, with or without zipper fits her and we’re not doing custom boots right now.

unfortunately, most boots with zippers don’t have boot pull loops, so you have to get them installed “aftermarket” for about the same cost as adding a gusset.

I just got a pair of the Hispar Dress boots. I don’t know if I have a defective pair or not, but I can’t even step down into the boot. It seems like the zipper should go down a bit lower, but I can’t even force my heel down. They seem like a nice boot, although I would have had to have the calves made smaller. Sadly, I am returning them.

Just a heads up: the awesome folks at Tropical Rider are doing a 50% off sale until the 13th. Their Enduracools are very generously sized and stretchy, and at 50% off a phenomenal bargain (I think they’re worth every penny at full price, so this is an amazing deal).

Do a search on here for Nittany before you order from them…

I am short waisted, would the low rise work for me? Also what about the TR Extreme? Are they as cool or cooler than the Enduracool??? I see they are more expensive, but I REALLY need something as cool as possible with summer coming so soon…

Last question - petite sizing? I am barely 5 '1"… anyone out there who is short and “fluffy”??

The low rise are probably going to hit on your natural waist. I am short and fluffy to… I think I had regular waisted ones, and it was too high. Can’t answer the q about the fabric difference, but a all to TR will be answered courteously, they have excellent CS!

Hey evryone…Look on Ebay, I saw some 3x deerskin tights and some other great deals of fluffy riding clothes!

Regular knee patch or extended? Do you have a preference one to the other? I hate full seats… I was going to wait and try them at WC next weekend, but who can turn down this sale???

I like the extended - I love regular full seats but the extended has all the plus and none of the minus (no diaper butt!).

Thanks for the sale tip, btw - I ordered a pair for myself and one for DD for summer!
