Womanly-sized riders, unite!

Spoiler alert: wide boot searchers, there is a pair of Dehner, 19 inch calf for sale on tack trader.

A call to Tropical Rider will explain everything (Dee is awesome). She just explained to me that the Extremes are a more crisp, tailored breech with less stretch. The material is a little heavier, but the fit will be more exact.

I like the Enduracools–they’re very wicky and very durable. My favorite for hot, gross weather (and they make a nice underlayer in winter!). I do knee patch and pay a little extra for belt loops which dresses them up a little and gives me a place to hang my phone. Ordered another pair of the Toasties for next winter, too. Can’t beat the price.

AND their stuff is made in the US and they’re trying to source all their fabric from the US, too. Can’t beat that.

Regular knee patch or extended?
I do deerskin knee patch, but I have them make it with the Clarino pattern (which is a little longer) as I have long femurs and run the risk of there being a gap between my boot and the patch.

See you there! I can’t wait to go.

I just swapped email with the seller. They’re a women’s size 10 and
“The boots are 19 inches long down the back, not including the heels, the calf is 19 (19 1/2 around the outside), 13 1/4 inches around the ankle, and the shoe size is a 10 wide, 4 inches wide over the ball of the foot. They have a Spanish tops, with a gusset.”

Hope they work for someone.

Wow, those sound awesome! Now someone find some for me in 16.5 calf, size 9

I just asked her for photos. Thanks for the tip.

If they aren’t what you are looking for, Coreene, could you please PM me the information?:)
Thanks!
Dee

PM me your email address, which I will forward when I get the photos. Since my last post, I think I have found the western saddle I’ve been longing for!

I just got a pair of the Hispar Dress boots. I don’t know if I have a defective pair or not, but I can’t even step down into the boot. It seems like the zipper should go down a bit lower, but I can’t even force my heel down. They seem like a nice boot, although I would have had to have the calves made smaller. Sadly, I am returning them.
Yours are not defective. Its the boot design. I had the same exact issue. I FINALLY got the left one on but the leather was SO stiff and the elastic next to the zippers wouldnt stretch and they just were not comfortable. Plus they were VERY narrow in the foot. I sent mine back and am STILL waiting for my money from Ridersmall.com. They were very quick to take my money, TWICE, out of my account but they have had the boots back for 2 weeks and I still dont have my money back. They said it would be back by today and its not so I am calling Monday AGAIN.

I got lucky and found a pair that someone was selling from UDBB that fit me perfectly. They are old Effinghams but barely used. They arent even broken in. They dont have zippers but since I can get them on without them, I figured thats just one less thing to break.

No, I need dressage boots :frowning:

Well I got my new boots from hispar. Beautiful…but…they need some break-in time. They are some stiff leather. I was hoping to show in them this weekend and putting my heel down was ouchy. I am still going to get a gusset put in one of the boots. It was a tad snug still. UGH
I have a pair of hispars- and I had a battle with mine as well-I ordered the ones without zippers and needless to say- they were quite mal-formed. I ended up spending the money to get them repaired. I agree that they were somewhat painful to break in- but now they are very comfortable and soft as ever! If it makes anyone feel any better- the shoe man i brought them to said the leather was great quality!
…if only now hispar could learn how calves are shaped…

These go up to 18" depending on boot size.

You’d think with all the plus size breeches and jackets, more companies would make wider calf boots. I can buy a whole ariat outfit and have it fit, yet their largest boots would never in a million years fit my calfs. And it looks like a lot of the people that make cheap wide calf boots make retched looking cuts with huge ankles.

I’m glad my old customs still fit, but they are looking so worn. I will be saving for new customs I think…
I wish they made these in dress! I need a cheap pair of dress boots.

Ambrey, just get field boots. No one is going to pay attention to whether or not you have dress or field boots, the judge is not going to care at all. You’ll have loads more choice with fields.

Pssst – look to the right of the ad. Link to the dress version of these boots!!

The dress don’t come in the XW option.

Ambrey, don’t forget you can do the schooling show in half chaps! But if you do get them, leave yourself a few weeks to break them in and get used to riding every day in boots.

I know, but eventually I’ll need boots! I will probably break down and get the Petries, but I am always on the lookout for a nice used pair instead.

Looking forward to seeing you in your blingy new saddle!
