The horse is safe, right???[/QUOTE] We are trying to confirm that he is …

I have so resisted posting on this thread, but all I can hope is that horse is safe. I have horse who had no wood chewing history as far as I knew despite being a stall 24/7 for most of her life (abused, underfed, etc) She came to me after a stressful ride of 2000 miles and got put in a dry paddock/stall combo. She chewed like crazy. A week of Quitt, turnout with grass and a pasture mate she stopped, sounds like a lovely horse, but there has to be some give and take with a horse in a new place, just my humble opinion

I do hope the horse is located and alive and well. This is terribly sad to read. What a waste if she fed this horse to the hounds to save her precious barn.

I hope you will let people know when you confirm Brownie’s situation. This entire situation is just so sad.

This thread perplexes and saddens me. OP solicited from CoTH homes and transport for at least 2 dogs she wanted placed, which apparently cost her biig bucks, yet she wasn’t willing to invest in some Quitt or a different muzzle for an animal she would keep and use? There’s something NQR here.

What a hard heart.

I get that you don’t want a destructive horse. I even get that sometimes a useless horse or aged horse may need to be put down. What I don’t get is that you seem to want him dead for chewing up your barn and peeing on his hay; so much so that you won’t let him go to another owner who would appreciate this kind, well-trained horse in spite of his vices.

You gave him to someone who has no tolerance for his chewing vice (a long-time habit that will not change) with the stated intention of killing him if he doesn’t change. It’s clear how that will end. Too sad.

Petey, it’s come to light that it’s not a long time habit and that the OP was fibbing about that. I think less stress and a change of location or any of the other suggestions that people have made will probably nip it in the bud.

I’d call it an out and out lie.

The OP’s whole story is filled with contradictions.

Jingles & AO that Mr.Brownie is "home’ and enjoying his Sunday supper ~

JINGLES & AO THAT MR. BROWNIE IS ‘HOME’ ENJOYING HIS SUPPER THIS EVENING ~

THIS THREAD HAS BEEN HEARTBREAKING ```

AND THIS MR.BROWNIE RE-LOCATION ~

I TRULY HOPE THAT MR. BROWNIE IS IN HIS ‘FOREVER HUNT HOME’ CHILLING TIL FALL ~

Thanks Long Spot and LauraKY,

I read halfway through the posts before making my comments…

Since it is not a long-time habit, I now wonder if he was simply hungry. If he is on a dry lot and being fed pellets or insufficient hay, of course he might chew on whatever is available. And then there’s stress.

I hope Brownie is doing well, and that someone who knows will keep us informed.

I think the OP might be a pathological liar. Many of her other posts sound brusque, grandiose, and exaggerated.

She does have a farm in N. KY. She did host a practice run for a driving team for WEG. I’ve heard it’s a nice facility. There’s a review online. "

What I like:
Fantastic facility, absolutely gorgeous! Trainer knows what she’s doing.(Note, OP is not the trainer).
What needs improvement:
Only negative is that the owner should work on her relation as a people person. She is very bitter towards others and it’s not an ideal characteristic. Also, location for such a nice place is terrible. Don’t even get me started on prices!"

It sounds like a habit that has gotten worse with stress. I also hope Brownie is happy and safe and in a better home environment.

How about a spray bottle with cayanne pepper and water?

If the OP had even a tiniest shred of decency left in her, she’d come back here and at least update her thread to reflect the situation of this poor horse. She could tell us all to go to h*ll, but have the courage to post here one last time. I would guess she is certainly reading this thread.

That would be great. I highly doubt this will happen, but it is a wonderful suggestion.

According to his previous hunt, he is not a wood chewer.

We don’t know if Brownie is safe and is in a better environment yet. We can only hope so at this point.

Maybe like WarDance she’s come down with a sudden illness that prevents her from posting further.

Effie, read the previous posts. It seems that the wood chewing was never a habit and only began when the horse was moved to the OP’s farm…
