Word to the Wise: Lesson Reminder for Everyone
Right?!?! Is Pony Owner really the PO? Why is she so stuck on this Mexican place? Why wasn’t the handle “Pony Owner” already taken? Seriously, COTH has thousands of registries a year and nobody took “Pony Owner”! Did BTDT actually have permission to share the PO’s side of the story? Was she sent here to do that? Were a bunch of COTHvolk just sitting around talking about it and PO shared? Were the emails fabricated? Is guac really free in a burrito bowl?

I need answers people.
“These questions—and many others—will be answered in the next episode of…Soap.”

How does that not make you a complete jerk?

Just because some people got confused between the OP, who is ALWAYS the original poster, and PO doesn’t make your rudeness any different.

PO was “outed” a long time ago and she’s well aware most of the smart people know. Your not knowing that clearly shows you’re not in that category.

And, if you could actually read for comprehension, the person posting as PonyOwner is acting like the one who still HAS the pony, not the OP who doesn’t.
Since I’m not one of the “smart people”, I need someone to bring me into the world of the “smart people” I’ll be very grateful.

Doesn’t leading one’s own children around on a pony since they are little equal a pony ride?

I am confused why the term pony ride automatically is negative.
Did the OP specifically say they are going to sell pony rides or was the term assumed to be something it might not have been?

I do agree that the OP is a newbie and the PO experienced and that does put some weight on the PO for being clear and such.
In this case, pony ride is negative because the OP was planning on using the pony to make money from them. She wasn’t just going to lead her own kids around.
Where does it ever say OP was trying to make money off of pony via pony rides?
See the bold/italic/underlined section below. That is where people are getting the “pony rides” from. Whether it’s true or not, we don’t know. Doesn’t seem like a far stretch though based on OP’s other posts.
OK, I am NOT reading 39 pages of this so I don’t know all of your references! had a GREAT dinner at an OK buffet (Mexican food!) with the “accused” and hubby (who is a pretty great jumper rider) and son, who is WAY too tall for pony.

I don’t know the whole story, but son, who is about my height at 5’8" at 13 cannot ride pony, so mom wanted to give super sound, rideable, safe pony to someone. Hubby and son did NOT want her to give the pony away free. She wanted OP who lived far away to come see it first. She had no clue OP was renting a trailer and coming with husband and three kids. OP shows up. Kids see pony and go sit in car. OP’s daughter supposed to be a rider, but just sits on pony. “Accused” has about $5,000 worth of really nice tack and asks OP about what she has. OP has no tack for pony and is going to make money off of it by using it for pony rides. Hubby of “accused” says, but you need a bridle for pony, and do you have a saddle?

Hubby of OP is saying he does not want pony. Hubby of accused is saying OP is NOT taking free pony when she can’t afford tack, and she is not going to be making money off pony doing pony rides.

Something like that. I’m sure I have some of the facts kind of wrong, but that’s the gist. Accused has a nice, safe, talented, sound pony at her beautiful ranch that is FAR too small for quickly growing son that she needs to SELL with fabulous tack as a bundle.

I tried a tamale. Not so good. The shrimp was pretty good as was the shredded beef and tilapia. There was no guac, and the salsa was way too spicy for my weenie tastebuds.

The accused and I will meet up and watch dressage tomorrow. :)
OMG. Crockpot, stop being a jerk.

nice.

 obviously.

I guess you are the one having difficulty with comprehension.

A comment I made has made it into someone’s signature. My goal in life has been fulfilled
99.99999% 0f posters here already know identity of PO . lol
Yes, but even those of us who (think we) know the identity can not know if that person made an alter and started posting.
Knowing the regular screen name of someone does not mean you know that person posting is not them.

How do you know this?

Did the OP say “I plan to make money giving pony rides” or did the OP say I plan to give pony rides?

You state it like you were standing there and you heard it.

I do not trust the word interpretation of someone who did not bother to look into the person they were offering the pony to before offering and allowing them to drive and look at it.

How in the world does anyone actually make money giving pony rides with one freaking pony, anyway?

There is just no way that the pony owner could have done ANY research on this person before they offered up their pony to them. It is not like the OP does not post here on this very forum, where the pony owner contacted them to offer the pony.
Yes. PO realizes she did not see the red flags and was too trusting. The details of all of the facts I do not know.

The PO was told that when the OP came to pick up pony.
PO was told… what?..

All along I’ve wondered whether, after the course of a couple hours with this family of five and experiencing the “enthusiasm” of the OP in the flesh, the PO finally deduced from the comments about budgeting, a reluctant husband, perhaps a death trap of a trailer, and then on top of that a reticence to spend a nominal $500 on custom tack for the pony that the OP was not a good fit. And then perhaps, in expressing her refusal to let the pony leave, the PO gave her reasons why, which included the saddle issue among other things. Having seen how well the OP communicates on this thread and elsewhere, it wouldn’t surprise me if the saddle was all she heard in that moment, making it out to be the sole reason the deal fell through when really it was just one of many factors.

I really do need a burrito now. The free guac on a veggie burrito used to be my go-to, but then they introduced sofritas and my life changed.

Honesty goes a much longer way than a lot of “around the side” answers.

Yeah, but BTDT doesn’t have any details according to her prior posts.

Don’t you guys have jobs? Shouldn’t you be working? PO and my friend are here. We’re off to the World Cup. Have fun going off!

I tell ya. This is hysterical. Everyone here is talking about it.
