Word to the Wise: Lesson Reminder for Everyone
Yes, but even those of us who (think we) know the identity can not know if that person made an alter and started posting.
Knowing the regular screen name of someone does not mean you know that person posting is not them.

How do you know this?

Did the OP say “I plan to make money giving pony rides” or did the OP say I plan to give pony rides?

You state it like you were standing there and you heard it.

I do not trust the word interpretation of someone who did not bother to look into the person they were offering the pony to before offering and allowing them to drive and look at it.

How in the world does anyone actually make money giving pony rides with one freaking pony, anyway?

There is just no way that the pony owner could have done ANY research on this person before they offered up their pony to them. It is not like the OP does not post here on this very forum, where the pony owner contacted them to offer the pony.
Why are you trying to fight me?! Are you just lashing out at anyone? I was commenting based on someone else’s comment. I’m sorry. I didn’t realize this thread was based only on actual facts. My b.

I am sorry if I used my lashing out font by accident.

I personally was just posting a bunch of comments and questions like everyone else. Ummm, like you did for example.

I will be more careful about making sure my font is appropriate from now on.

This thread is… AMAZING. And I need this entertainment to distract me from the fact that I was supposed to be at the World Cup but instead am stuck in my office

Honestly, I don’t fault PO for anything. Perhaps there were better ways she could have handled things along the way but in the end, her pony, her decision. I don’t care if someone brought along the sultan of brunei, if I thought they were a bad fit I’d send 'em packing.

I also don’t blame PO if there came a point where she just wanted OP off of her property and had to start making up reasons (not saying she did, just saying I wouldn’t blame her if it came to that). I have absolutely been there when I got the bright idea to board a horse or two… Had some girl show up and as we’re talking it comes out that she just moved here, she’s 18 with no job, and then she’s like “oh! That would be the perfect place for me to park my trailer!” Not a horse trailer, mind you… A mobile home where she would be living. Apparently horse board also = trailer park for owner? Ummmm… NO. I can’t even remember what I said to get her to leave but I’m certain I made up something dumb in desperation. And as soon as she left I took that ad down and decided to keep my barn private because I’m a selfish meany!

And again, since this whole deal could probably have used a Universal Translator – what if the PO misconstrued a conversation like this?

PO: “Pony might need such and such for heavy work” (one of many possible openers)
OP: “On I don’t think it will be a problem, we’ll mostly be using her for pony rides”

PO’s mind goes to a carnival midway.
OP is thinking about leading her kids around.

I’ve seen weirder things happen. Actually there are 47 PAGES of weirder things here.

Blueberry is Valegro’s barn name.

I feel very bad for the OP in a way because I don’t think I was firm enough before she drove down. I should have told her to come by herself with one child. Instead I wasn’t strong enough. I have made many mistakes. Sometimes I get very uptight and it shows and I do things I should not do. BTDT is trying to make me sound like a saint, but I am not. That is why I changed the information in my profile.

Meanwhile I am trying to decide whether to root for Valegro as my favorite or go with a new one.

There are so many places to eat in Vegas. For anyone else who is there and has not met me yet, I highly recommend Viva Zapata’s. It is a bit of a drive from the strip but it well worth it. The food is very reasonably priced and the tortillas are very good. You can watch them being made fresh right next to the dining area.

Anything on the menu is good. They open early so you can get lunch today and still get back in time to watch the dressage.

Edited to add: they are open at 10am today.

Are you a true carnivore that enjoys a delicious salad bar?

Texas De Brazil. It’s not too far from the strip. A little pricey, but its all you can eat quality meats and a HUGE salad bar. It’s a “chain” of sorts, but the one in Vegas is my favorite!

Not sure if that salad bar has guac though…

Don’t you guys have jobs? Shouldn’t you be working? PO and my friend are here. We’re off to the World Cup. Have fun going off!

I tell ya. This is hysterical. Everyone here is talking about it.
At the very least it is an excuse to drink some adult beverages, eat candy, popcorn, go to Vegas, etc.

Thank you for the recommendation. If it is all you can eat, I will refrain for eating for at least a day before I go over there. Or maybe go late morning and eat slowly go I can go through at least two menus (breakfast and lunch) before heading off to do more horse stuff,

Can y’all slow down a little bit? I can’t keep up.

Tell the real PO to giver her Blueberry a kiss for all of us:

I want to be smart like the rest of you…
I have no idea who the owner of the pony is, because I don’t care. So yes, I’m smart.

Pretty easily if you have a network that includes lots of small kids with parents who don’t want to buy them a pony.

OP has 3 kids. Say each kid has 1-2 friends whose parents are willing to pay for a weekly pony ride. Maybe 5 kids a week. Say ten bucks a ride. Now you’re looking at roughly $200/month, which would be at least half to 3/4 of the pony’s board bill in my area. Or roughly half the cost of all the tack that was supposed to be sold with the pony.

Not a bad strategy if you have a market for it. But obviously not what the owner was expecting from an easy/retirement home for their pony.

I’ll bet Babel fish are even more expensive than pony tack.

Smart= not wasting time sorting out who the real PO is-- doesn’t concern me in the least…

This thread was started as a witch hunt to villify another memeber and very poor taste. My opinion is it should be removed.

I can entirely see OP imagining that she is going to afford the pony for her kids by selling pony rides/lessons on it to other moms she knows. Like the pony version of DoTerra or Rodan + Fields.

I don’t think my facebook feed can handle MLM Pony schemes, it’s already being overwhelmed by Jamberry and It Works!!!

(also, I hadn’t heard of doterra before… so I had to look it up… and… groan)

But then what fun would it be? No stick art, no burritos in bustiers, no box wine, no nuthin’!

This thread was really missing some good low-down dirty name calling to make it a true classic. Glad that’s been taken care of!

Exactly… except per BTDT it was the POHusband who thought they were going to use the pony for Pony Rides.

But I agree, this is probably a comedy of miscommunication/misunderstanding that lacks the comedy.

Yeah Jamberry, Doterra, Rodan + Fields, Arbonne, I can’t take it anymore… it is enough to drive me off social media.

I’m like, 20 pages behind now. Synopsis, anyone? Did PO ever show up? Did OP show back up?
