Word to the Wise: Lesson Reminder for Everyone

Thank you VXF and Kdow for that great advice on how to freeze without the browning.

Now there’s a rumor circulating that The Pony has been “hit on” by one of the grand prix stallions competing in Vegas… Perhaps someone in Vegas who is not eating guacamole now could verify that rumor for us?

I will recommend this thread to my niece.[/QUOTE]

There was an earlier, delightfully subtle reference on this thread to that clusterf*ck too

Driving home from WC this morning and looked up at a billboard on the 15 which was a Chipotle ad for guacamole. I about died of laughter.

Sadly, I spent too much time at Hakkasan on Friday night and was in no shape to craft my “Je Suis Pony Owner” shirt on Saturday morning. Did you know they serve drinks in Vegas? Yikes.

So did any of you go to the Duel and watch the reined cowhorse riders jump and visa versa?

Do I have to wander over to the other forum for that answer???

Yes, I watched it, it was very entertaining. The jumpers that the working cowboys rode were very honest souls. One of the cows smacked his head hard on the wall at one point. Beezie bowed out of riding the cowhorses and was replaced by Tanya Levorchik IIRC.

They shot off fireworks at the start of the GP last night and everyone collectively jumped out of their seats.

  1. I put avocados on my grocery list this morning. Husband did not comply.

  2. Someone once told me if you leave the pit in the guac it prevents browning. Can anyone confirm/deny? I’ve never tried it.

  3. Tab was here.

From the video I watched the reined cowhorses looked a bit more confuddled as to their jobs than the jumpers!
Kudos to all who tried it though!

It’s true.

There is too much talk of guacamole.

One nice person here in Vegas was telling me about how they and others at the barn will let their horses eat mangos during certain times of the year when the fruit is so ripe it falls off the tree. I think that is better for horses, but I forget maybe it is papaya that is good one? I heard one of those is good for the stomach as a natural remedy but I am not sure. I forget the details.

Avocado is nutritious but has too much fat in it and some of us here I think are already eating too much of fat things.

The show was exciting, but I wanted to see Edward Gal jump over jumps or do reining. The cowboys looked funny on the jumping part. But that is Vegas I guess.

It was nice to see Valegro and the other horses form Europe. Some people complain about scores, but I think there will always be complaints as long as there are different judges. some always seem to get some kind of bias. Judges score all people low or only some people low and then everybody asks about it. Politicks are there and its not easy to make it go away. One lady was telling me about how their student was doing an equitation class where they judge the rider, and even though the student fell off, she still got a ribbon. People got mad and angry but there is not much you can do except not go to the shows or look at the judge and not go if you don’t like the bias judge.

I feel so fat. I eat too much. I am so fat.

Ok, I do not have the energy to go through this whole 66 page thread. Did the non-seller of the pony ever chime in on the situation? If so, whereabouts?

Not personally. Via proxy BTBT…some pages back, and Laurierace mentioned something about…3 pages or so back?

Also, you’re weak. A true COTHer would’ve bunkered down with a box of wine and/or a bucket of popcorn with guac, and gotten through this mess through sheer persistence.

Are you guys still on this? BTDT is back home from the WC after a LONG drive. The PO non seller never chimed, but watched the ridiculousness with hilarity.

I DO miss PO. We really hit it off. I texted her today about the results of the jumping, and PO’s husband started dissing dressage riders.

I didn’t read a lot of this, but PO did explain to me the origin of the burrito and guacamole nonsense. I DO have a picture of PO cleverly disguised eating guac AT Chipotle at Planet Hollywood in LV.

You know, I was so proud of myself for losing so much weight after I kinda-sorta broke my left leg in January, but now I’m afraid I’m gonna gain it all back and not fit into the nice new clothes I’ve bought.

Why? I stopped at Qdoba YET AGAIN today on my way home from the barn and had a burrito bowl with guac and sour cream. That’s TWICE this week. TWICE!

I blame it all on this thread.

I feel like this should be immortalized in a signature line…possibly mine.

Is it greedy to have two signatures?

No.
As long as you have the space for it!

We talked about it yes. Fault on both sides.

Again, rumors of my presence in Vegas have been greatly exaggerated. snort.

I have also discovered, much to my sadness, that I’m not supposed to eat this delicious Avocado of which you all speak. Just another crazy human thing, I suppose.

Pony, you will always get the best of all horse feeds and excellent pasture.

Has anyone tried putting guac on popcorn? Like, guac-flavored popcorn? I’d think it’d be good, if soggy.
