The first rider was Canadian but I don’t recall her name. The second rider was Endel Ots. Sabine Schut-Kerry was the third.
One was the commentator from Thursday.
Is anyone else having trouble with the VOD of the Grand Prix?
Her horse is a 5 year old stallion by Totilas out of a Donnerhall mare. I think he’s going to be pretty special!
Congratulations to Isabel Werth!!!
As much as I admire Isabel Werth I cannot get on board with the high scores. The last 2 times I’ve seen her compete I actually thought her horse looked off.
did you see her ride today?? You seem to be a person who assumes things without really knowing it… By the way I thought Laura Graves and Carl Hester were amazing as well, but Isabel Werth was winning for a reason. I recommend to watch the rides…
they are on Youtube already…

Did anybody else notice the really long feet on Glocks Voice? Lots of heel and toe length.
Yes!
Off in what way? Specifically.
I miss Valegro!
I did see the ride, I didn’t think it was all that and a bag of chips. As to your next comment I will leave you with this - bip bip bip bip bip. It makes as much sense as your snarky statement.
Can’t be specific, not a vet, just think his hind end looks wonky at times. Of course it’s hard to see his rear leg action when his tail is swishing so much. I wonder if that is from heavy spurring? Don’t know, just wasn’t an attractive test to me.
On the other hand I think Graves rode beautifully. jmho so don’t get wring your tail mannio.
by the way, it was not a he but a her…
I really liked Isabell and Laura’s rides (although I don’t think Isabell’s was a 90 % ride but that’s just me expecting something more spectacular for 90 %). However, I just can’t for the life of me understand what the judges see in Carl Hester’s horse. Yes, Carl is an amazing rider but Nip Tuck looks so… I don’t know, average to me. He doesn’t really appear to have any extensions and the piaffe is a bit weird, like he’s walking with his front and trotting with his hind end.
Of the others, Du Soleil had some amazing trot extensions and Mister X really knows how to passage and piaffe. I really like that Judy Reynolds has such a difficult choreography but I think the first two minutes of it were so busy that the quality of their work suffered a bit.
My two cents about the rides. And I did not go, I only watched FEI TV, so maybe I wasn’t able to catch everything.
I confess that I love love Du Soleil. This horse is just an amazing beautiful horse. From the standpoint of a breeder, thats, what I would like to breed…
Also I loved the Dutch Rider with Cennin. She is a very elegant rider and it was fun to watch her.
And of course I also simply love Carl Hester. He rode a horse which was clearly trained beautifully and in a way they are an amazing team. Also he was smart and rode all the difficult things to get points for it. And also he is such a nice guy.
I also liked Judy Reynolds and Vancouver, They have been my favorites for several years now and I am happy that they are doing so well.
Another one of my favorites is Kasey Perry-Glass and her Diamond Hit son. They are a beautiful team. And whats not to like about Laura Graves. Her story is a fairy tale and she deserves every bit of it for all her dedication and hard work and it is amazing to watch her managing her impressive horse.
But I still think Isabel Werth was a very deserving winner. I simply adore her horse (of course also because my Sandy has exactly the same breeding ) She is elegant, has an amazing rhythm and carries herself from behind very well. She is such a well rounded beautiful horse. In the piaffe its perfectly balanced. And maybe Isabel Werth is not the most elegant rider in the world, but I love her dedication and hard work.
No. Maybe a little longish but not out of proportion. I saw him up close in the warm up.
Loved watching the tests posted on YouTube. So very happy they are up. I thought Isabel and Laura’s tests were both very good and winner could have gone either way for me… But didn’t think there should have been a 5 point spread. (But not a judge so what do I know!)
I thought Voices hind hooves looked funny but thought it was the video quality and his markings. What drew my attention to it was his piaffe, which to me had a sort of funny backward flip to the hind limb. My thought was it was a quirk of the horse and how he interpreted piaffe when he learned.
I went with my daughter who won Spectator Judging. We sat behind E. All the top rides we agreed with on placing but how many points we differed a lot with the Judges. But it was great fun! I do have a question about Steffen Peters and the amount of collection of Rosamunde. Was that too much collection for the piaffe where she was very close on her steps and looking like a horse getting ready to do an “air above the ground”. Not enough forward? Not judging but just want to know and develop my eye.
The Press conference was great-even saw Molly Sorge from a distance. Why, she even walked right passed me! Did get to talk to Carl Hester and complimented him on his April Fool story on Valegro. He said that they should have sent a photo of Valegro jumping.
Thank you FEI, Omaha Equestrian etc. ( I live in Lincoln, just down the road).
