World Cup 2017 in Omaha

I was reading the article about the WC on the front page of this website this morning and enjoying the pictures. But one of them had me scratching my head. The venue is not an equestrian only venue - it’s a sports complex. For that reason, the picture of a number of competitors allowing their horses to graze on the front lawn worried me. There is no reason to believe that such a lovely, manicured lawn hasn’t had a recent spring application of fertilizer and/or weed killer. I would not be comfortable grazing where I couldn’t be sure of that. Anybody else have the same thought?

I would think that it’s a little bit early for that. . . usually at this time of year, the lawns are still covered with snow - so I wouldn’t expect that the herbicide would come out much earlier than mid-April.

Ah, good to know. Thanks Shagyas.

Watching on FEI TV . Where can I find an order of go? (For jumping also).
Edit - Found it. LonginesTiming.com

And must say the FEI TV is well worth the $15. one month subscription as the quality and camera placements are awesome - like I am standing right there.

I’m really enjoying it- thanks FEI TV! totally worth 70/yr for all this coverage (not just WC)

Anyone help me trouble shoot no sound on the FEI app on a Ipad? I have sound on my iPhone Agree, camera work is fabulous.

I don’t use the app, sorry.
Carl Hester first place 2% over Edward, half way point Day 1

sign out and sign in again?
Can you sign in through a browser instead of an app?

what does everyone think? very good dressage! sadly not a fan of Rosamunde, but Diddy was SPECTACULAR, also really enjoyed CH and Nip Tuck.
Congrats to all involved! Can’t wait for the freestyle.

Thanks for the tech support. Turned it off then on and the headphones came on. Very odd but loving the stream.

Does anyone know where the scores for day one of dressage are posted? Also, any mobile-friendly good articles & commentary on the first day of competition? We are about to head out for the drive to get there by the Showcase today!!

I was not able to get the sound to work at all on my iPhone app. I just gave up.

I thought Laura’s ride was much better than Isabel’s. I was not a fan of Hester’s ride either. We are sitting close up in a corner and really get to see the extensions (or lack of them in some cases).

I did really like Vancouver K, Rustique, and that beautiful liver chestnut from the Netherlands.

The venue is so much better than the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas. I saw several riders out walking around the vendors on Wednesday after the warmup session.

I followed Lauren Sprieser’s blog on COTH for the day one commentary- http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/as-it-happens-the-2017-fei-world-cup-dressage-final-grand-prix

Thanks for the link to the scores. The detailed individual scores by each judge are especially interesting.

Thanks!!

Dumb question, but have they dropped the GP Special for this competition? From the COTH coverage one gathers that the GP is the qualifier for the Freestyle.

Guess so. There is a ‘Dressage Showcase’ which is going right now, but not broadcast on FEI-TV ??? Grrrr.

I’m having a hard time getting excited about this competition, even with Carl Hester taking part.

Did you watch it last night?
Diddy was amazing ! Just awesome!!!

Does anyone know who the horses and riders who Isabelle Werth instructed were? Fantastic mini-clinic and I quite enjoyed all of the showcase demonstrations, but I wish there was a daysheet or a page in the program with info on the different ‘acts’ - the announcer was difficult to understand.
