World Cup 2017 in Omaha

Ace, I think that so long as the weather isn’t absolutely horrendous, Omaha will be 10x better than Las Vegas. It looks like even the venue itself is so much better suited for the World Cup than the tiny Thomas Mack Center in LV.

Staying in Old Market looks way better than the LV Strip.

I certainly plan to go to the zoo so long as it’s not unbearable outside.

Las Vegas was not my cup of tea, TBH.

The zoo is on our list, too! This will be my first visit to Omaha and I expect to enjoy it.

I am also looking forward to all the promised extra World Cup amenities (viewing the Warm-Up Arena from the restaurant, for instance) at the CenturyLink Arena.

World Cup -Omaha Sunday Jumping Final ticket Available - $120 great seats. I have to fly back early, so I’ll be missing it.

And select others too. Let me know if anyone is interested…

Thursday, March 30 dressage Grand Prix at 2 PM $65. Jumping Final I, jumping speed class, 7:00 PM, $65. All prices listed are face value on the tickets.

Three tickets available for each event listed. Currently have tickets in hand. All tickets are in Lower Bowl, Section109. Either Row13 or 14. Great seats!

All tickets get you into the Vendor trade show open 9 AM - 5 PM daily.

I had never been to Las Vegas before the 2015 World Cup, but it had been on my to-do list for awhile and the World Cup was the perfect excuse. Las Vegas was very much the fun, over the top, excess and weirdness that I expected, but being able to go see the same caliber of dressage for half the price in Omaha is a no-brainer for me. Here’s hoping Omaha is willing to step up and subsidize the trip for the top European competitors like Las Vegas did.

Though I will be there mostly to enjoy the jumping I am still a fan of solid dressage rides.

That said here’s the list of competitors.

@NJRider @netg @Jarpur - want to plan on meeting up at 10 AM on Friday? I’m in the hotel next to the convention center, not sure where everyone else is.

We discussed - I think it’s a yes for me and @NJRider We should get a PM conversation going

This sounds like a plan!

Is there a website or Facebook page to sell tickets? Just found out I can’t go…

Stubhub.com.

Thanks Xctrygirl! Didn’t even think of that!

For those of us who’ve attended the WC in Las Vegas, remember the optional commentary delivered through an in-ear radio? It was purchased at a booth, and would sell out. We found this extra both educational and enjoyable.

I could find nothing about something such as this being offered in Omaha on the official website, so I emailed the foundation the other day asking about it, but hadn’t received a reply, so I called. The person I spoke with hasn’t been to the previous World Cups, and therefore was unfamiliar with this service, but she said that an app is available for both Android and Apple that she thought would serve the same purpose.

Adding that she said to “Do a search for FEI World Cup Finals” to find the app.

I’d love to meet up with you guys too! I know it was mentioned on the Dressage for Adult Amateurs FB page about a month or so ago but I haven’t seen anything on that thread since. Its myself, my BO, and barn friend/fellow boarder making the trip. We’re actually road tripping it from MS, so we’ll have a car.

I’m SO excited!! Hubby and I are going to the GP on Saturday and Sunday (he isn’t a horse person, but enjoys the occasional international showjumping event, lol) and will be by myself for the dressage showcase (or whatever it is called) Saturday morning. So if it is like the International, the warmup ring is in one room, where all the vendors are and then the big ring is in the other. Am I correct in my assumption that the general public can come to the vendor area/warm-up? My SIL and nieces want to go. I am trying to foster a love of horses to pass this all on to.

We are so excited! We get to print out our boarding passes later today. Wish the predicted weather was a little better, but thinking positive thoughts and know we’ll have a blast no matter what.

There will be commentary by Axel Steiner for FREE via a app to be downloaded on site. Enjoy!

The organizing committee is bending over backwards to provide educational opportunities to all visitors. They should be thanked.

Multi-quote is broken again so hopefully I copied and pasted the above correctly. They’re both link to the same post, though!

Thanks for the info, Axel! I really look forward to it! Everything I have heard about the organizing committee has been that they are absolutely superb and dedicated. I look forward to getting to rave about how wonderful they are from firsthand experience.

I am so looking forward to your commentary!

The CenturyLink Center has also been awesome. I called them with some questions and they were accessible and so happy to help. I am excited to fly to Omaha in the morning.
