World Cup Las Vegas 2020

Officially cancelled :frowning:

Yup, got 2 emails from them. They’re going to start processing refunds next week.

Disappointed, but it’s the only logical, responsible thing to do

Having just spent the last week at home with the flu (somebody decided they were really important and went to work sick at DH office), I’m relieved. This just hasn’t been any fun at all! I agree, it is the only sane thing to do.

Not meant to be this year; appreciate that they’re planning on relatively quick refunds. Cancelled my hotel room as soon as I received the emails.

Will cancel my flight later. Would prefer a refund, but will probably have to settle for a credit to be used within a year (standard Southwest policy). Since the airline allows cancellation up to 10 minutes before departure, and the credit expires in a year, I’m better off if I cancel closer to the scheduled departure time.

Waiting to cancel won’t help you, the credit is one year from the date of purchase.

This was going to be my last time spending a chunk of time with my mom before she moved to Italy in May. Needless to say that move is on hold for now as well.

Uh-oh. Thanks!

Has anyone received their refund?

I’m slightly worried that Las Vegas Events might file for bankruptcy instead of refunding ticket holders. It just seems like a Vegas kind of thing to do. I know the email said it might take up to two weeks, and that was only five days ago, so if anyone has seen a refund, that will make me feel more at ease!

I also haven’t yet received a refund. The last email said that their new plan was to issue a credit for those who paid via credit card (my situation).

I’m also a little concerned about refunds actually arriving, but realize that they have a lot on their plate. It seems as though the date to receive one is pushed back. Manual process to take two weeks, then up to ten more days to receive the credit, is how I’m interpreting the latest notice, so almost another month.

This is from the March 24 email:

[I]'Dear FEI World Cup â„¢ 2020 Ticket Holder,

We hope this email finds you well. After our last update, we were able to make some changes that will allow us to process your refund sooner than the anticipated 30 days. To do so, you will now be receiving your refund in your original form of payment. This is a manual process that will begin this week, but will take up to two weeks.
Payment by Credit Card
If you purchased your tickets directly through the UNLV Box Office and/or paid by credit card, you will receive a confirmation email from UNLVTicketsCustomerService@UNLV.edu once your refund has been processed. Please allow 7 to 10 business days after to see the funds back in your account.

Payment by Check
If you purchased your tickets through the Las Vegas Events ticket office via check, you will receive a confirmation email from TicketOffice@LasVegasEvents.com once your check has been sent.

Thank you,

Las Vegas Events Ticket Office

I haven’t received mine yet…the Airbnb refunded in full which was nice

Curious if anyone has received their refunds/credit yet?

We received a credit on our credit card, yes.

I received my credit as well.

I’ve gotten an email that is a copy of my original invoice, down to the info included about limited parking and a suggestion to arrive early, with negative signs added in front of all the charges. I assume this is to show that a credit is being issued.

My credit card company notifies me when I actually receive a credit from a merchant, and that hasn’t happened yet.

I got the same email on April 8th, but my debit card hasn’t been credited as of yet. An email response can take up to 10 business days

I received my credit today. I’m not expecting it to hit right away but will check in a few days.

Just received the notice from my credit card company that the World Cup ticket credit has gone through!

I haven’t seen anything yet. I paid by credit card.

Getting my refund check tomorrow!
