Would anyone?

This post really annoys me for the reason that it annoys all you guys this person is asking people to lease their big eq horses to them for free. No Person in their right mind would ever do this. That would be like asking Chelsea Moss to lease Logan to her for free. A horse like Logan probably leased in the ballpark of 35,000 per month if not more, and for finals $60,000 or more. I’m sorry but this just isn’t gonna happen. And no the person asking on big eq, skittlepony1? that was me

maybe i can find the benefactor…

For me that is…

I have the horse, I have jumped to 4’6" or better. But alas, I have to work my tail off, and don’t have a lot of time to ride. My goal is hopefully doing miniprix’s next year. I keep the horses at home, no trainer, no coach, but i’m also 3x the OP’s age

Anyway, OP I mean this in the best of ways but maybe your priorities are a little messed up.

I totally get not having a lot of money, I don’t by any stretch of the imagination and it was really hard to make my daughter’s junior dreams come true.

However, we spent whatever money we had on buying the nicest young horse we could find when she was your age and then spent the rest of our money on training up that horse to take her to the 3’6" ring her last junior year. They managed to get there through a tremendous amount of hard work and sacrifice but without the fancy saddle or Parlanti boots

Anyway - the horse was sold to pay for her college expenses but the riding education she received from her horse was priceless and other trainers noticed how hard she worked. To the point that at a show or two that our trainer couldn’t attend, she was helped by some substantial trainers because they’d been watching her bring this horse along. And a trainer near her college has offered to have her come show some horses for her as they come in from lease.

So my point is, hard work and a good attitude will get you so much further than a Butet or whining and complaining on the internet. Sell your saddle and go find a young horse if this what you really want, but it’s hard work and it can be very frustrating but in the end, you’ll have learned so much more than if you just got a hand out.

Just checked my email, was wondering why you guys thought it was her posting on big eq. Sure enough there are COTH emails in my inbox. I haven’t Check that email in forever seeing as though it’s the one that get’s flooded with youtube alerts. This person used my email to make an account. Not sure who it is but i intend to find out.

xtranormal already came up 2 or 3 pages ago.
Ok. Only read the first page then got annoyed.

Actually, that sounds like it adds up pretty well… maybe not the price tags, but the thought process.
Thought process, sure, but the price-tag thing is odd. A $4k saddle and showing at VT, but can’t afford to lease or buy? Priorities are a just little off. If you can’t afford to own and show at the AA now, but you have the means to do one or the other, buy the horse, stay at home, and get some miles in the saddle.

A different thought

Let me try…

What is YOUR goal for going to Big Eq finals?
-Get your name out there to later become a pro?
-Go out as a Jr. at top of the game?
-Just for the experience?

I think if you know clearly your main reason for wanting what you do it will help you determine how to get it. If you just want to be a pro later, there is plenty of opportunity for that. If you want to end your Jr. years at the top, think it through as others have said. Life doesn’t stop at 18, there is so much more to riding and life. (And something to consider is the competition there if you did go.) If you just want the experience, well, riding is all about that. There are so many great riding opportunities out there, why limit yourself to just that.

Maybe I haven’t even mentioned what your real goal is, but think about it. If your goal is to prove something to someone, well, honestly, you’ll be doing it your whole life. The only person who you have to prove anything to is yourself. No one is really going to be impressed or blown away by your riding b/c they are thinking about their own riding and lives. It is great to have a big goal, but little goals help you get there. Many people have made great points, all valid, especially to them, if anything it shows how tough it is out there to be heard and taken seriously. There are a lot of voices out there, like riders. Everyone has their opinions.

So, this person created a COTH user identity using your email address in November, 2010 (the join date in Properetiquette1’s public profile)?

Yeah you wanna know why it doesn’t add up. This girl is posing as me. I have an email that is swalshq795@gmail.com which i opened up for my youtube, facebook, ect, my other account is for my actual personal use skittlespony@gmail.com, which is the email my account is linked to. I was looking for horses on big eq. Anyway like i said above i just went to check the other email because i thought it was wierd that you said that she was on Bigeq looking at horses to try in VT. I though “wait i was looking at horses to try in VT”. There are emails from personal messages people were sending on her account in my email. I intend to find out who did this with my email, but i’m pretty sure i know who did it.

I don’t check that email it’s for youtube, facebook and all those annoying notifications. I occasionally use it for bigeq, i have never gotten a COTH email before recently though so that’s why a red light never came up.

Very curious. I’d find out who this person is if I were you. Who know what else they may have used your email address for.

Close the old e mail account ASAP and alert whoever runs the site. And check any others you have regularly. Might want to change all your personal passwords on bank accounts, credit cards and anything else just to be safe…maybe run a credit report too. Like NOW.

I know that is what scares me the most. I’m pretty sure i know who did it, it honestly wouldn’t shock me if it was that person. I don’t understand why anyone would do that to me.

If this person opened their COTH account with a hacked e mail that was really yours? The mods here should be notified ASAP as well.

This OP has not only made all her negative remarks go away, she is deleting all her posts in their entirety…which surprised me…until I read this, pehaps this was a motivation to just disappear into a hole like nothing happened.

This one is way past popcorn.

If i tell the mods will they close her account! I don’t want her using COTH on an account, on an email that belongs to me.

Yeah her motivation was the fact that she saw my post “Grand Finale!” and didn’t want me to see that she was here using me stuff. Little did she know you can’t delete threads.

Maybe I’m a cynic (okay, I’m definitely a cynic) but on my planet, when the word “hacked” gets bandied about, it is slang for “I’m denying that the person getting a bad reception has anything to do with me.”

PS I’m posting this on my iTouch. Wait, where are the grammatical errors that are apparently endemic to this format?

Your Grammar looks fine! I know this was a person that knows me, probably from my barn too. The only people that would even have a guess at my password let alone get it right are my friends at school, people at the barn, and my parents (obviously not them). This in it’s entirety speaks to me as an act of hate or a joke. Both of which i don’t respect because now i have to clean up this mess.

No less cynical then I am my friend. And regardless of intent or guilt, PE1 joined a year ago and has 14 posts, most in the past week and skittlepony joined in 2009 and has 11 posts, most right here. That is just wierd, even for houseguests visiting a trainwreck on here.

Whole thing is a little odd but skittle does seem to have somewhat better command of the language then PE even if neither has figured out the CAP key or much punctuation.

This is interesting.

It also means that you might want to look into better password security.
