XC thread.

Opposition Buzz is FLYING! What a great partnership they seem to have.

Japanese rider 60 penalties.

Nicola and Buzz CLEAR within the time!!!

Love the “British-isms”

Bounce-off

Fit as a flea

Nicola Wilson and Opposition Buzz! Well done!!

Fabulous under time round for first Brit!
Linda Algottson looks great, very fast to the Castles in arena

That big downhill is already looking a bit pockmarked. I bet by the end of the day it’s going to be pretty chewed up.

It certainly looks like the very very rolling terrain is as much of a test as the fences.

Only 12 horses in, the turf is chopping up at some of the skinny approaches

Linda Algottson finishes with only 20 very happy horse looked fit ending

3 lesser known competitors on at the moment, Russian/Polish starting I believe

Buzz was already a cross country hero. Now he’s a legend. What an awesome boy, and a talented, humble rider.

Belorus rider handily thru castles

This isn’t my discipline so I ask with all sincerity is all of this tree ducking normal? Lot of low branches on course, on corners etc. Why would you intentionally put riders under low trees at that pace?

grumble I got up at 5 AM and it’s still showing Women’s Volleyball on NBCSN when it should be showing XC. What gives?

Jamaican rider Samantha on the lovely grey is off - theyjust said on H&H feed that Tina Cooke produced the horse;

Whoops Belarus rider is off, nasty fall. She sits, horse almost ran over her. Horse lame walking off

Fall by the Belarussian (?), with a near fall of the horse.

Long way through the water for the Russian, which is I think the first time we’ve seen that route.

KOC should be up next!

Samantha slides badly almost goes down in the logs, stops, and turns – dislodges a rock at the base when chesting it – stays on by a miracle – goes on! Good on her!

What I’ve gathered with the t.v. coverage, is they list all of the events that will be shown at some time within that time frame. The other day, it was well into the 7th hour mark before they showed the 15 minutes of eventing dressage. I certainly would NOT rely on t.v. coverage if it can be at all helped.

Andrei russian rider having a tremendous round – he’s a large rider on this horse but seems to be balancing well for every jump

Oh no. Hold on course. Looks like the Belarus horse is being loaded on the ambulance, maybe standing a bit funny LF?

What just happened - there is a break? I saw a fall, but then a plane went overhead and I lost connection :frowning:

Just tuned in to someone getting flagged down. No volume at work, so had to wait to see the ambulance before it made sense. :frowning: Hope everyone is OK.

Sad I missed Otis and Opposition Buzz, but that’s what the BBC replay is for. Sounds like they were both pretty brilliant.
