It is looking choppy already… I hope everyone gets around safely.

Japanese rider 60 penalties.
Aw, pfui (phooey). He said in an interview that xc was going to be a problem due to fitness and “going up and down hills.” However, I was rooting for him.
Currently on hold for vanning off Passat, the Belorus horse, after fall – Samantha from Jamaica on course (already going with a 20) and Karen O’Connor will be starting.
Just as Karen is warming up - at least I don’t think she is on course…
Sorry to hear about the horse - hopefully it’s nothing too serious!!
That wasn’t the Japanese rider who is in first after dressage, however. I hope he has a wonderful trip!!
Passat pecked badly on landing, she came off, he got up dicey on front leg, looked right fore when trotting off, broke the reins when she fell…it was a bigger fence in the second half of course, they are vanning off. He is not dead lame or three legged but something went in the leg looked like

Actually he looked good. Nothing to be ashamed of there…
They certainly are taking advantage of the hold to load up on the commercials. – They are annoying, but it is the price we pay for the coverage. I will take that as a trade off anyday.
The hurt horse looked good. Standing square, ears pricked, looking around. I don’t know why they don’t take his saddle off.
Is Karen being held in the start box?
Anyone know why NBC Sports is not playing it on TV like scheduled?!
It looks like it is getting slippery - remember LA in 1984? Same problem - Plumb went first and came in slow - and made everyone change their studs.

What I’ve gathered with the t.v. coverage, is they list all of the events that will be shown at some time within that time frame. The other day, it was well into the 7th hour mark before they showed the 15 minutes of eventing dressage. I certainly would NOT rely on t.v. coverage if it can be at all helped.
So it seems, I checked the schedule online and it said the XC would go from 5:15 to 9:45, but no dice. I’ll have to keep getting the temporary pass then. We have cable, but it’s through the HOA, and I don’t have a username and password.
Damned, Eurovisionsport isn’t showing Karen They are showing a lovely heliocopter view of the person before her (on an Irish horse, at least!!)
WOW CAN MR MEDICOTT GALLOP!!!
Psst, NBC. The lady who just galloped off is from the US. I love the gray horse from Jamaica, but let’s watch Karen!
Karen off, already fighting him over first and second…Mr. Medicott full of run!
Here we go. Whoa nellie, Mr. Medicott.
ETA holy cow that horse is a scopy flying machine!
OMG Karen is just running away – 4 strides at Castle corner in arena!
Mr. Medicott is apparently doing his best to make time! Wowza!
Sigh. Will have to try to catch replays, or vidoes on youtube or something since I can’t make streaming work here at WORK. What do they expect - work?
I’ve heard BBC a couple of times…are they streaming? Maybe I could get that here?
Will check in during the day to see what the COTH folks post. Keep it coming for those of us not in the know.
Wow- thought Happy Times was about to be a goner there. What a recovery. (Eek on the footing!)
