Keep me updated on Mark Todd! I tried loggin in with a co-workers phone, and that was just a huge hassle. I’m stuck at work with NO access to the live feed!!! UGH!
.80 time penalty, otherwise a beautiful ride!!!

WFP slightly over the time. His horse looked a bit tired.

Would the woman in the water have been able to climb back on if her vest had not inflated?
Wouldn’t matter as a fall eliminates you.
‘chancy!’. Love that!!
No - her fall was as a result of the jump, so she was eliminated if she came off. A fall of horse or rider means elimination.
I’m not sure if they are allowed to fall unrelated to an obstacle. That used to not count, but with the new rules eliminating with any fall of horse or rider, I’m not sure.
I thought the meant would she have been able to not fall and climb back into the saddle if her vest wasn’t deployed. I think she was too far off to manage.
Thank you.

He is still on course!

otherwise -
I bet he could get a shetland pony around that course
Did they televise his ride, or is only on the streaming feed? I need to know if I should run to my DVR or my laptop when I arrive home from work!
Mark Todd is riding like he stole that horse!
Another great round for Sweden. clean with .8 time.
The Swedes have really been the big surprise to me today…

oops, just realized that, sorry. What a spectacular ride though!

Any fall is elimination, now.
The earlier question though, as I understand it, is whether the rider would have been able to climb back on mid-fall. If you didn’t see it, the rider clung to the side of her horse and tried to get back on. Karen O’Connor managed to do it years ago in this pretty amazing video:

I think more than the air vest issue, it wasn’t going to happen because that horse was not willing to stand there as patiently as Karen’s horse!
Oh wow! so close wow.
Of course DirectTv decided I’d watched enough and dropped the connection, demanding that I log in with some long forgotten password, and forcing me to swap laptops and do a software update in the process.
.04 time for Mark.
Hope he recovers quickly for tomorrow. Is this his first 4*?
Uh-oh, indeed. Not a good event for eventing PR! Ugh, does it get worse? This “live” reading is getting frustrating now. But I’m not going to peak ahead! It’s like reading a good book!
1st Germany 124.7
2nd Great Britain 130.2
3rd Sweden 131.4
4th New Zealand 133.4
5th USA 155.2
6th Ireland 178.8
Oh yes, I saw that, just misunderstood the question! I think she was too far gone to pull herself back up and the horse had had enough of her hanging off and that’s when she finally let go when the horse started fussing.
What a finish over that last jump by Mark Todd! Looked a bit like horse added in an extra stride perhaps?
What a great day. Gorgeous course and stunning coverage.
