Sea Accounts is not homozygous.
San City is though I believe (he has not been tested but hasn’t produced a red head yet even when bred to a chestnut…). Not sure if he will work for your mare otherwise though.
ETA - wanted to clarify (since I went back and re-read what I wrote and it sounded a little “harsh” to me and was NOT my intent). I have a head cold and my filters are all wonky I think LOL
When I say that I’m not sure if San City would work for your mare I mean in terms of what each brings to the table with regards to pedigree, movement, conformation etc. I’m very good friends with his owner and have known Samson since he was a youngster. I tell Katie all the time that he is a SPECTACULAR dressage horse, and he obviously can jump around. He does need a little bit of blood though for eventing etc if you are aiming at upper levels just for speed and stamina. He’s producing leggy, athletic, friendly, beautiful foals who are just now getting started under saddle. Very rideable.[/QUOTE]
I just discovered San City a couple of months ago and really like the look of him. He doesn’t seem to be too well promoted, which is a shame. Great to see that he is now Hanoverian approved! I wish I had known (at the time) that it was him being presented to the inspectors after the 70 day test or I would have stayed to see him.
I’d definitely put him on my list if I had a more blooded mare but my mares all need blood. I’m feeling very lucky, for that reason, to be able to breed one of my Hanoverian mares to Sea Accounts this year!
