Yet Another New Horse - It's Peach!

My same thought was “crappy training injuries”.
Possibly Gate Training gone bad?

Something about that brief look said “I am in pain, up top”

What’s the body injury you’re referring to?

I don’t see anything that would make me hypothesize that he’s been involved in some kind of wreck or disaster, that seems like a pretty big jump right now. He was sore yesterday, but he’s been through a lot in the last couple days and I am always staying optimistic  We’ll get around to sorting out any physical issues in time.

He’s looking much improved today  Someone’s pet pig was wandering through my neighbor’s yard at breakfast, causing the whole herd (and a few deer) to get a little snorty.

Now that he’s not super dehydrated, he’s a little less sucked up.

He’s adorable! Love those ears. Chestnuts with chrome are my weakness :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You can tell there’s a stunner in there, with some groceries (and light work!)

All three of my horses were hacked past a fenced pet pig at least three times a week for several years and they never got over the belief that the pig was going to murder them any second!

Years later when I was looking for a boarding barn in another state I had to turn one down that was perfect in every way because they had a very large pot-bellied pig with free access to the barn. When I toured the place, I walked past a pile of loose hay in the aisle and the pig popped out of it and I almost had a heart attack, so I can’t really blame them.

He is going to be stunning with some groceries. I really wish we knew more about his story…

Oh my gosh, he is moving so much better today.

So cute.

In the pig’s defense, the horses also act foolish when the deer are moving around in the underbrush. The same deer that visit the property 2-3 times a day. I think they just look for excuses to run around snorting at things. :joy:

If I’m lucky I should be able to get his chip read tonight. Assuming he actually has one, of course.

I’d get some paint for that left fore! or take all your pics turned the other way …

face scrapes, while possible from bity face and other things, I remember halter burns and scrapes seen in rough handling

but he does look much softer in his movement so hopefully just a tired stressed horse + perhaps tender feet and all will be fine with TLC

Gorgeous! And lucky!

GIRL! YOU have such a type! I love it!

I can’t wait to see his transformation. You need shades to look at him now, I can’t imagine how shiny he is going to be after you feed him and good grooming.

I’m pretty sure I figured out who he is… but will wait to confirm the microchip. :crossed_fingers: Race replay screenshot:

He has a beautiful hip line. Gorgeous coloring, he will be easy to spot in the show ring!

Any idea what could cause the split tongue?

Yes he wasn’t even in the game. I really bet the owner just said “Dump him. I don’t want him on my feedbill”. He doesn’t look old enough in your pictures to be racing but I think that is because he is so thin. I can see him being a little scratched up and bunged up. He was stuffed into how many trailers and crammed into small places with a lot of horses. Especially if he was bottom man on the totem pole.

I think he will glow up pretty fast now that he is being cared for and not fighting for food or a safe place to stand.

Hey, if that is him….at least he’s started already.

I’m guessing he was the slow one at the back!

That was always where I went wrong with my OTTBs—I ended up with the fast successful ones that won a lot (one was third in the Maryland Million Distaff) but not quite enough for the owners to pay to turn them out for six months to let their minor injuries heal. And they always kept that go-go-go, win-win-win attitude their whole lives!:rofl::rofl:

He looks kind. And beautiful.

Here I was wondering how we were supposed to pick him out in that crappy picture until I clicked on it.

He should be a piece of cake to fit up after Bo, and he’s going to be stunning!

If that video is this horse, he was dead last in both of his races. Only two starts the summer of 2022, as a 2.5yo.

It’s a pretty tiny ding, just the tip - looks like he could’ve accidentally bitten it or sliced it on something.

He’s moved into Bo’s pasture now.
