Your favorite sires, conformation-wise

Brother Derek  Midnight Lute

Here’s a new and relatively unknown sire I like: Malibu Moonshine

And here’s a video of him playing in his paddock.

:yes::yes:

I also love Bernardini…and what a start he has. (And what a price tag!)

But another outstanding example, not yet fully realized (only been here in the states a couple of years) is Indygo Shiner at Hill ā€˜n’ Dale. He is jaw dropping in person. And his dam is a full to Toussaud.

Corinthian

His book was closed in December for this year’s breeding season. Very unusual for a 3rd year stallion. I hope his offspring can run as well as they look.

Stormy Atlantic!

Without looking him up, didnt he run in Maryland? I believe we were offered this horse when he was a 2 or 3 yr old… I could be totally wrong though.

He definitely has that Malibu Moon butt doesn’t he?

Whoa! I want him!!

Yes, he did.

I saw him win the Tesio and the Pleasant Colony. He was the best reason why North American racing needs more stayer races.

Funny; I always knew he was a chestnut but until that video, I never knew he was a three-sock chestnut.

I never saw him race and didn’t know him until he ended up on a friend’s farm. Now I’m really sorry I didn’t follow his career.

If you are looking for value, Majestic Warrior at Ashford. Bellamy Road at Winstar. Street Sense at Darley.

My boss has an absolute drop dead gorgeous Majestic warrior 2yo colt. He bought him as a weanling and he s the real deal, brains and beauty.

I have to agree with those that have mentioned Bernadini, he is the most ā€œperfectā€ specimen I have ever seen. I also am madly in love with quality road and can’t wait to see how he matures and fills out over the next couple of years.

The colonel John babies in November were super impressive. Apparently the Tiznows are a bit lacking in smarts (I do have first hand knowledge) but the are athletic buggers, maybe the colonel john get will have brains and talent

I 'm having the darndest time finding a decent confo pic of him. I loved him when he was racing.[/QUOTE]

I personally find his front end much less than ideal. And having been around quite a few of his offspring, that is one feature he certainly passes on.

I watched the Barretts 2 year old sale on line tonight. Some very nice horses. There were a few by my favorites, Midnight Lute, and Brother Derek, they looked pretty good.

There were several stunning fillies, War Front and Empire Maker fillies sold for much $.

Many seemed to have high reserves, but many were sold for decent prices. Perhaps the market is bouncing back?

Malibu Moon, etc.

I was just about knocked off my feet the first time I saw Malibu Moon (by A.P. Indy out of Macoumba, A.P. Indy’s sire is Seattle Slew). Have a great mare from him who is HUGE.

Bernardini is a knockout, as is Giant’s Causeway. Love Fastness - got an unbelievable filly from Fastness.

Going back, fondly, to Runaway Groom. Man oh man! Would I have LOVED to breed to him.

I saw Tiznow win his second Breeders’ Cup Classic and was blown away by him.

Just my .02 cents…

Hallie

I saw him win the 2005 Tesio Stakes at Laurel. His owner then was then-in-his-90s Woodrow Marriott, the youngest of the hotel-chain brothers.

I’m really liking Lookin At Lucky:

You could argue he has a slightly long back, but he has the bone to match, and just looks solid. Looks like a comfy foxhunter prospect.

Owning two short backed horses which are close to impossible to fit a western saddle on, I’d err on the side of a slightly longer back, but not TOO long.

I really, really liked one of the Candy Rides when I watched the Barretts feed.

Did you go back through the sales list, though, and see how many didn’t make reserve and were not sold after all?

Look at all of the "not sold"s:
