Why would they have to video it for insurance? Her owners are right there. It is obviously being taped but I seriously doubt insurance has anything to do with it.
Her owners being there has about jack all to do with anything. Are they professional horsey widwives? Are they licensed vets?
That much money involved, & if something goes wrong & insurance is asked to pay out, you really think video tapes will not be demanded? No video tapes, then what are they trying to hide/cover up? Goes the other way too, to prove they were not at fault in whatever.
I get video tape; including of the sac exam too, with a nice little running dialog about its exam.
I don’t see the insurance company asking for video but who knows. Yes there are experienced horsey midwives as well as vets in attendance.
I am really interested to see this foal and (hopefully) watch it grow.
Bernardini really gets some lovely offspring. I can’t wait to see the conformation of this one when it is 3yrs old.
I’m sure there must have been a thread, but what do the racing folks here think of the choice of Bernardini/Zenyatta?
I thought it was a great choice, though I am not a breeder,I just enjoy studying pedigrees and thoroughbred conformation and performance.
Zenyatta’s 3YO half-sister Eblouissante is by Bernardini. And in John Shirreffs’ barn. The opinions of that filly, I am sure, factored into this mating.
Vertigineux had a foal by Bernardini?
Yes, a filly now 3 years old. Name is Eblouissante.
The breeder kept that one after selling the mare to Coolmore and sent the filly to Shirreffs. She has not yet raced.
Interesting! I couldn’t find a good conformation photo though. Wow that is quite the pedigree!
Of course with the Street Cry influence there will be a difference, although there will still be Mr Prospector on top, different types don’t you think?

Seriously? Whoodathunkit.
Yikes, a little harsh don’t you think? This is , to me and I think to others, an interesting event and topic of discussion.
So Z’s foal will be a 3/4 sibling to Eblouissante? Interesting.
I have watched her workouts on line (Eblouissante). The trainer is taking his time with her. She is going to be a big mare too.
Foaling stalls in Ky have cameras and the help watches on a TV monitor until things start to pick up in activity. Zen’s stablemate Tasty is in the stall across from her and they are due at the same time. If my mare made me about seven million dollars I would be there, sit up all night, and be happy to be a part of the event. They do love her. They fly out to visit her several times a year and so has Mike Smith. The trainer and groom have posted pictures on Facebook of the visits they have made. I hope she has a easy delivery and all are healthy. R.A. Curlin foal is a handsome little guy. I am glad to see she is feeling better. Things were a little tough there for a couple of days.
After the storms of the past week everyone must be grateful that the horse and farm are safe and undamaged. If you are on facebook there are sites where grain and hay can be donated to displaced animals.
One of the Farish kids (apparently showing at WEF?) tweeted an ill-timed message indicating maybe a little more than she should have?
Zenyatta has foaled! It’s a boy
Yay!
What a cutie!! He’s sure got some big shoes to fill. Glad Z and her baby had a safe delivery
So baby R.A and baby Z head to head on the 3rd of may 2015?
Whoo hoo!! What a handsome boy! And look how beautiful she looks!!
