That was my point. It’s no longer an insult to say that a horse “has left Kentucky.” Empire Maker and Johannesburg were sold to Japan, Lion Heart went to Turkey. And none of them were failures here.
Smarty was still a viable Kentucky stallion–just not at a high stud fee. And he’s only one of many stallions who’ve made the Ky to PA trip recently (E Dubai, Jump Start, Eurosilver, Honor and Glory, Grand Reward, etc).
