Have you seen the picture of the bird in the gate with him? To my mind that goes a long way toward explaining the suck back action.

He didn’t break well in his first race either but at least made a respectable attempt. This race, didn’t see the attempt to catch up…

Have someone stand just outside the gate & toss a bird up every time he breaks(during training of course)? ;):winkgrin:
I really feel Z has had a bad run of luck in both his starts, along with being a late bloomer.
Hopefully they get things sorted out & give him a bit of time to figure it out.
He has shown a decent turn of foot when kept focused.

I think he’s got talent, mommy peanut. With enough time, he could be something. Who knows. Coz too. Not gonna compare them to their mom in any way.

I saw that Victor spanked him a little bit right about the time he started moving. Perhaps this is a new approach? If so, maybe it worked. When he finally started going forward he looked pretty good.
