All that info. was in the DRF. I had him and Atigun in my tri, but Fame and Glory instead of Grassy:mad:
WOW! What a a day! Had tickets, but never parked my butt since we were on the rail of the saddling paddock all day. And then went to the Zenyatta after-party.
Now going to a very early breakfast at Clocker’s Corner before a long day at the races@
I just wished they would publish the number of horses who were found to have bled upon post race endoscopy. I sure won’t be betting any juvenile races and won’t bet any of them next year because they just aren’t formful.
I can’t believe Zagora went off at 9-1. I would have been betting her up, down, and sideways at those odds.
Questing had an eye injury that caused her eye to swell shut. It is being treated
Ouch - attendance was an anemic 34,619. Come on, folks, Del Mar gets 45k+ on a WED opening day. Keeneland’s delivered that in their tiny facility, Saratoga does that with just a couple graded races on the card …
Agreed that anybody letting a Chad Brown horse in a graded race go off at 9-1 is like buying a guaranteed lottery ticket

Agree GG. Believe this year’s BC is seen as being anemic by several. No solid coverage on NBC itself, just NBCsport?!?
Suppose it’s because all the stars from the classic races have come and gone. But after watching yesterday’s races, there are certainly quality, exciting races and horses to see. Plenty of stories. Was going to try to clean during yesterday’s card, and was glued to my set. Paying for it now while I try to do it all in 2 hours!:eek:
Can anyone who has Direct TV tell me what channel the Breeders Cup coverage is on? Usually i sit and watch it all day long…cant seem to find it now.

Pre-BC races (1-2-3) are on HRTV live. I believe they then show them on a delayed based afterwards.
NBC Sports Channel (which used to be long ago OLN then Versus) will carry the racing live for the afternoon [3-8pm ET] then it switches for the Classic to their flagship channel “NBC” [8-9pm ET].
An aside … I was watching HRTV this morning and they had Jimmy “The Hat” being interviewed for his picks by Michelle Yu. When did Michelle switch from being on TVG to HRTV?
The attendance on Friday likely is curtailed significant by the actual cost of the ticket. There is a point where they should re-look at the entry fee and decide its better to have “the masses” in the seats and at the windows. As opposed to a fraction of the audience and kept as an elite event. I’ve been to the BC when it was at Arlington Park and it was utterly packed to the gills, then again it was a single day event back then.

Should be NBC. Certainly TVG has delayed coverage of the actual races as well.

Mark Casse says[B] Spring in the Air bled badly during the race – and, boy, is he on the warpath. He is, of course, a strong proponent of race-day salix.
“Before I was disappointed with the Breeders’ Cup,” he said. “Now I’m just down-right mad. I am furious.”
Casse said owner John Oxley was so upset that they considered – but did not – withdrawing Dynamic Sky from Saturday’s Juvenile.
Casse said Spring in the Air, who went off at odds slightly under 6-1, was traveling well when she acted like she was going to bolt midway through the far turn. He said jockey Patrick Husbands reported that when he got the filly down to a jog pulling up after the race, she started coughing.
“She coughed the entire way back to the barn,” Casse said. “She just constantly, constantly coughed. We called the vet. The vet scoped her and the vet said she bled a 3 out of (a scale of) 5. She put her head down and blood came out of her right nostril. Still this morning she is still coughing.
“I mean, is that right? I’ve got to tell you, Mr. Oxley is so upset about it he said he would never, ever run another 2-year-old without Lasix in the Breeders’ Cup. You just don’t know. This could be the end of her career, which is just absolutely ridiculous. We’ve got all these smart guys (running racing). Let them come back to the barn some time and watch a horse that bleeds cool out.”
Breeders Cup coverage is on NBCSports Channel at 3:30. Then on NBC, at 8pm for the classic.
Looking forward to Excelebration running. He’s out of a mare called Sun Shower. We bought the first foal out of SS as a yearling for €2500. His name is Mull Of Killough. He won a Group 3 a few weeks ago and won a listed race at Newmarket today. We had the opportunity to buy the mare at the sales but decided against it (of course we did) due to the economic climate. Excelebration was a foal at the time. Mare went for €6200 and now lives in India.
Probably a good thing for the mare as if we had owned something that good she probably would have met a horrible fate! :lol:
