gumtree, thanks for your feedback. I couldn’t tell if the trainer was just smack talking or there was something to a, in his opinion, shorter run up than he’d like for Exaggerator from that outside post.

That’s probably because the average number of starter historically has been 10 or less. Guesstimating by a random check of the charts.
I would bet there have only been a handful of runnings at best when there have been 13+ horses going in the gate. So considering it has been run 146 times IMO a rather insignificant static.
I like to think that everything I post is significant. You just ruined my day.

I agree - that original statistic, although correct, was presented out of context.

Piling on? 15 yard penalty.
As an aside, long range forecast calling for severe weather in the northeast on Saturday. That may help Exxagerator but the Big Sandy has a reputation for heavy going on the best of days.
Blush… remedial study required :uhoh:
I knew all the more current stuff (i.e., after I was born) but not the older, more historical stuff.

Having a tough time finding general remarks about the field tomorrow - one good comprehensive article. Embarrassed to say I hardly recognize a few of the horses.
A few articles on individual horses in BH.
Anyone with a good read?
I like Suddenbreakingnews based on his run in the KD - so far…
I’m kind of rooting for Lani. And the maiden, Trojan Nation. I also don’t know a lot of the horses in the field. I’d be fine if Exaggerator won, but his work where he blew the turn was troublesome.
The card overall is the best of the year, imo.
Severe weather is still a threat but forecasts indicate the worst will pass the coast around 7 pm. Picking a winner out of this field and today’s weather are about the same. Troublesome.
I am sticking with SBN as I think he is made for the 12 f race. Only a win bet though. If this is a bad dream I want to keep my losses to a minimum.
Post is around 6:30 pm?
6:37pm ET Live on NBC. NBCSN is covering the undercard.
I’d be boxing Suddenbreakingnews and Stradivari.
Unless it pours by then then I’d probably put a win on Exaggerator. He’s shown he likes the slop for sure.
I had planned all yard work this morning, then watch the Belmont card. But it started pouring here upstate early - looks like this system now hitting them, with a smaller one behind.
Hopefully the weather will move out sooner if it continues to move as quickly as this system did.
SBN for me. He was 10-1 on Wednesday, now 5-1.
Looking at others using the Clancy brothers site.

Which is why many stallions are no longer available at stud in July and August.
The stallion doesn’t go on vacation, but the swimmers do.
One large problem with TB race breeding is that the number of single cryptorchids seems to have increased dramatically per an article on SBN that I read on Bloodhorse. Double cryptorchids are still very rare. Since it does appear that being a cryptorchid is at least in part genetic–we all know that Weekend Surprise foaled a majority of cryptorchid colts–, unless breeders vote with their pocketbooks against cryptorchid lines, there will be more and more doubles and more and more singles. But breeders aren’t likely to care as long as the line is fast. IIRC, both AP Indy and American Pharoah are cryptorchids.

Agree. The industry turns a blind eye if it means giving up quick cash. The high rollers in the KY breeding industry is, by standing ridglings, exhausting the roll of other state programs and with rich buyers having limitless budgets, the vast majority of the future industry will have to settle for homelessness. Not to mention the genetic paralysis of the breed which is even more harmful. Just another failure of the JC to protect an already fragile breed. Maybe moving the JC headquarters to ND would clear their thinking.
How about Cavorting in the Ogden Phipps? Her time and length of win quite exciting.
TVG giving 5-1 odds on Exxagerator in a promo. Sure kiss of death for the colt.

An exciting time in the winner’s circle too when she dumped her jockey.

Missed that. Should have paused the TV. I was heading to the frig. Every good filly has a malicious streak imo.
Samraat came in 4th. I’ve been following him for a while and I think he might be on the downhill.
Hahaha go Cavorting! Rambunctious young lady.

There is a difference between a monorchid and cryptorchid.
I have NO idea what you are referring to, with this statement:
Double cryptorchids are still very rare.
