Foals are all doing well, and the next 2 mares are under close watch: Prayer Bell (Pulpit) in foal to Cloud Computing at 345 days, and Ultimate Class (During) in foal to Omaha Beach at 337 days. We just bought Prayer Bell in January, and she means a lot to me as I prepped her for the yearling sales back in 2010. I have heard she goes long, and that is proving to be true! Ultimate Class shocked us last year foaling in the field at 4pm (at 337!), so we are ready for her tricks this time.
Yourn’s filly by Gormley is not the friendliest creature on the planet, and despite her good looks she doesn’t get many photos. Thankfully she is VERY correct and needs minimal human intervention, spending maximum time outside.
Faerie Queen’s Midshipman colt is complete opposite: he LOVES people and is a delight to handle. His mother can be Storm Cat Quirky, but thankfully he is nothing like her. Truly a joy to have him, he is smart, kind, and wants to do whatever you ask of him. And he’s absolutely gorgeous. Brains, character, good looks and built beautifully?! I really want this one back when he’s done running!
Entice’s colt still has mild diarrhea and is reluctantly taking his metronidazole and BioSponge. He hasn’t had a fever, and continues to be alert and bouncy, so it seems he will be just fine. This one is so handsome, and flashy too. Also has a charming personality, with perhaps the prettiest head I’ve seen on a TB colt. When he walks, his ears still flop forward and its absolutely adorable.
Her Special Way’s colt has been a bit “sad” yesterday, and bloodwork came back with a low white cell count. He’s on pen & gent, and seemed perkier today. No fever, vitals are normal, he nurses well but is just “quiet” and less spunky than I would expect. Taking follow up bloodwork tomorrow. I see a lot of his mother in him, less of Valiant Minister (aside from the gray).
