I hate the glove rule. I rarely wear them at home. I just like a closer feel, that shouldn’t be an issue! Oh well.
No it was Glen Oro, but we finished 4th at WOW after that, so there was some redemption hahaha
I was lucky at Oakhurst Ruth yelled at me I needed gloves for dressage before I went in, I had no idea it was a rule!
Ok, I think you were in my ring at WOW. Maybe you had mentioned the boot thing and I saw it online lol!
And yes, so many rules but once you know them and have your setup/attire confirmed, it’s easy enough to follow unless something changes. Just always wear the same tack and outfit
I wear gloves every ride so easy for me to remember! I think up here it’s just for dressage though - pretty sure you can ride your stadium and XC without gloves if you want (I’d still have to check…I’m always scribing so those rules are more top of mind for me).
Oh lucky you to witness that…we had an awful test there…47 LOL Old habits die hard. Still finished 4th/15 due to my jumping queen! I was very sad because there was no ribbons because of COVID that year
I’m circling back to the doubles for a second… I don’t think I’ve seen a double ever sold with a flash attachment. So I wonder if that’s a frankenbridle. You would have to put an “aftermarket” noseband piece on a double to get flash attachment.
Does anyone know who did the test ride for the 5*? I loved seeing the big smile the whole ride.
Or a flash bridle with a bradoon hanger…
snork
Clayton just said (paraphrasing) that judges were ready, willing, and able to give out the deserved scores early in the order of go, because they no longer have a bottle of wine at lunch!
For context, they were discussing how Doug and Clayton had been through the officials program, so they are well aware that judges aren’t penalizing those who go early (or giving better marks after a liquid lunch lol)
I’m still just so confused over the whole thing ahha I
I can’t wait to watch Humble GS to go tomorrow. That is a stallion I have been hmmming and hawwing over breeding my mare to for the last few years. His temperament is to die for and not to mention he’s just absolutely stunning.
I was parked beside the showjumping ring next to him at an event and a bee stung my mare, she really flipped out, spun, ran backwards and I had to jump off and she was like grunting the entire time so loud, he just stood perfectly and watched, didn’t flinch or even move. I was so impressed.
In the screenshot you can see the little flash-holding tab that you can pull out to remove the loop completely. That’s the same design as the Kavalkade Ivonne, which converts from snaffle to double. (It’s not the Ivonne based on the noseband shape, just a similar design I think.) So I think it’s a convertible bridle.
Agree with @Libby2563. This looks like a convertible bridle that you can swap cleanly out the flash and add the snaffle bit hanger. Handy not to have to pay for 2 expensive bridles.
They’re discussing the double bridles now.
Allie Knowles is a beautiful rider.
BUG my heart
Did the commentators say that Vermiculus had come up with an injury in training and couldn’t go to Badminton next week, so he was doing Kentucky instead? That seems…odd.
Bug seems to be over this dressage stuff
Never mind - I think they just said he’s done for the weekend, so they were just planning to do dressage then head to Lumuhlen.
No you heard right, I think it was something superficial they didn’t want to risk flying over. That’s my guess.
He looks amazing. I love him soooo much
I thought they meant he got hurt, but then was running all 3 phases of Kentucky, which would be a very bad decision lol.
Anyone know who the commentators are? Thanks!
