Clayton Fredericks is one (Australian accent). Not sure who is the second.
He is running I’m pretty sure!
Clayton Fredericks and Jon Kyle
NVM heard it now LOL Not running.
They said he’s done for the weekend and re-routing to Lumuhlen, as they didn’t want to run him XC yet.
I think the wording on that was very poor. What they should have said was at the time of sending off event entries, he sustained a minor injury that made them question whether flying abroad for Badminton was wise. You know this likely, but not everyone listening in does (another reason I wish announcers were a bit less insular with phrases/nicknames and a bit more broad) - they have to plan these entries and flights months in advance and its financially/feasibly more sensible to cancel an entry in your home country versus fly over and then scratch.
Thanks - that makes much more sense. It sounded like he had recently sustained some sort of injury, so they just decided to stay home and run Kentucky. So in reality, he has recovered but is not quite ready/fit enough to run the whole thing.
Does anyone know what time they resume?
I’m downstairs on my elliptical and I’m only connected to it through my laptop upstairs, so want to be ready to hop off and run upstairs and not miss anything.
I’m surprised by no sub 30 scores as yet, but that can certainly change with the next set of riders!
Never mind, I just ran upstairs to check and it starts again at 2:18.
2:20 with Hawley and Jollybo
Headed to Kentucky for the first time in several years and hoping to catch a course walk or two tomorrow. Any ideas on the best way to find a list of who is leading walks and when? Bonus points for walks that may not be as crowded as those with riders like Boyd and Doug.
I think Ride IQ is hosting one!
Eventing nation likely has them listed.
Go Hawley!!!
She had a fb/Instagram post that he had some swelling in a fetlock and while it checked out fine and he was sound, he’d missed fitness work and they didn’t want to send him over.
I saw Erik Dierks is running one. I went on his walk with Ralph Hill in 2013 and it was great. Hopefully this works (public post so you don’t need to be on FB): https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10225778388236361&set=a.1135674601994
Retired Racehorse Project is running a coursewalk with Elisa Wallace (I think go to their booth in the vendor area to sign up). From their FB post: Don’t forget: our Ironwoman XC Course Walk with Elisa Wallace has been moved to a 3:30 start time!
nice Square halt for Phillip
Really liking Marilyn Payne’s commentary, she is kind and honest.
I rode for her at the Area 2 championships last year, and her scores were fair and her comments were positive and constructive - even though it was not our best test! Very much appreciated
Apparently she has quite the sense of humor according to stories I’ve heard, and is very competitive with her son
Still no really mistake-free, steady and “knock ‘em out of the park“ tests; the door is certainly open!
I really like her too, she has a lot of knowledge.
If you get there early enough, take a stroll around the vendor area and look for signs posted with course walk info. I remember seeing several when I was there - the vendor sponsoring the walk would have a whiteboard with the day’s events posted. Since you’ll be there tomorrow, you’ll likely see them as the walks would be tomorrow too.
He’s from my area (Area8) - we are all cheering for Dan in his first time at KY!
