Shame for EW. He just wasn’t feeling it.
Oof, that was a loud no from Lee but honest.
Seemed like Lee lost his heart a little bit after coming in weak up the bank to the jump before.
Excited for Booli!
Yeah, the number of times the commentators have mentioned the horses seem to be questioning where they’re going is concerning. The horses should have an obvious path, it’s the riders that should have to do the thinking.
I agree. Hoping he “just” pulled a shoe & stepped on a clip or something. No one wants that either, but at least fixable.
What happened to fleeceworks royal?
This doesn’t make sense at all, how on earth is the horse supposed to know where it’s going if the rider doesn’t get it on track? That’s the game at this level. I don’t find it concerning.
That’s what Wofford was just saying
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. Yes, the rider needs to steer and tell the horse where it’s going, but especially in an ABC combination like at HOL, it shouldn’t be tricky or deceptive for the horse.
I like the Badminton course better. JMHO.
I don’t think it’s deceptive at all. They’re hard questions sure, but I don’t feel it’s any different than years past.
It looked like he stepped on himself or twinged something going through 11. He cantered away not looking very good, but hopefully just a shoe problem or a sting.
Oh my god I am sick to my stomach having just watched that. I desperately hope she is ok.
I’ve been having to refresh – what happened to Tamie Smith, and earlier HSB on Capitol h.i.m.?
me too
hope we hear soon that it was not something more serious
Tamie’s horse pulled up lame after the double brushes and HSB fell off at the same combination.
ETA: I was mistaken, HSB fell off at the double brushes later on in the course. Thanks @initiate1987!
HSB fell off later in the course at the second double brushes at 23B. Capitol HIM stopped at the first brush.
Yeah - also nauseated watching Tamie’s horse’s movement disintegrate in slow motion there after that jump. Hopefully anyone who has good news will share it stat.
Gah, I was rooting for Elisa and Lee so much. I think his confidence took a ding at that prior question and he just was not back into the groove.
The lack of coverage on her was frustrating too.
Great ride for Leah and AP Prime! So awesome to see them have such a good trip around, and that could be a decent score to go into tomorrow.
