Yes, I think some cash is a much deserved and better reward than are the jackets/merch often presented.
Just as a heads up, it looks like they are also showing the press conference with the winners on the live stream.
The person at the podium is Brian Lookabill, who was doing the commentary throughout the class.
Thanks!!
That’s a long course! It looks like it could be tricky to keep impulsion and balance from 2 through 6.
The whole thing looks pretty testy to me.
This announcer is fantastic, and he always does a fabulous job with this class.
I love how he is still sounding so polite as he’s telling the riders to leave the ring for the fourth time. Lol.
This is the minute by minute schedule that they published in advance. We’ll see how closely they stick to it.
Very twisty turny. I hope it doesn’t cause the carnage that it did that one year.
Dare I say the jumps almost look normal this year? No solid looking jumps/walls except as the ASPCA and LA skyline fillers.
First round took 2 minutes and 10 seconds, for those estimating timing for specific riders.
Jaxon Hoshaw is the first rider in just before 7:20AM. He looks to be on a fairly young steely gray. Adorable horse. He had a rail and some sticky distances, but I’d call that a pretty respectable round for being the first one in.
So far so good.
I’m having trouble with the feed. Anyone else?
I think there are enough places to take a second to regather that we won’t see as much carnage as last year. First three have all been nice indications. The top riders will just be able to make it that much smoother and seamless.
Nice trip by Vivian Golden.
I’m glad to see the jumps look fairly reasonable this year. Picturesque, but not too crazy.
Where have I seen the macaron jump before?
I believe the Olympics! Brian was saying there are several from Paris and the future LA games here.
I was expecting the course to win, but I’m pleasantly surprised.
I think the hardest part so far is fitting the 6 in to the blue vertical.
Ah, thanks! Paris and their macarons.
