Good morning everyone! Was ass is firmly affixed to my couch (as my husband would say) and ready for this class!
The course rundown this morning mentioned that a few of the jumps are from Paris, and one is from Tokyo. Plus the last jump is a forerunner for the LA Olympics.
I think Carlee’s doing a nice job settling into the commentary, but I miss Ava.
I wish they could have done Ava and Carlee.
Same. I’m a little surprised they didn’t have the two of them tag team it.
It was interesting to hear Carlee’s brief description of her experience so far in her training program in Europe, which has been the topic of a lot of discussion on another recent thread here on the BB.
For those planning their day, first 10 trips took roughly 25 minutes.
I think it has really added a lot to the live stream since they started having last year’s winner do the commentary, since they have a unique perspective on it with tons of insights.
But at the same time, I always feel like it’s asking a lot of these kids to talk about their peers all day, especially when the winner might still be a junior who is still showing against all these other riders week after week.
So props to everybody who has been willing to sit in the chair and tackle the task.
Did it look to anybody else like Bailey Rowan lost her outside stirrup after the Maclay oxer on the end of the ring?
It would have been interesting to see if the judges had been able to see it from their respective angles, although I don’t think it will be an issue after the snug jump later in the course.
I keep thinking that Carlee sounds an awful lot like Ava.
She does a bit. But that’s not a bad thing, since Ava usually does great job.
I think Carlee is doing very well. Nice of her to come from Europe to do this.
Keeping the horses on their leads seems to be a challenge with this course this year.
Yes, they really need to keep the horses between their hands and legs with all the bending lines and turns. Plus that blue vertical has been pretty pesky so far.
It seems like there have been more rails down than is usual for this class.
Agree - rails and leads, for this level, are all over the place. The rails have mostly been at that blue vertical at the end of the s-line though. Seems like the horses just get trucking a little too much.
Great round from Violet!
Very nice round by Violet Tatum. Did they say she rides with Archie Cox? I didn’t catch the trainer’s name.
Yes she does.
It didn’t catch the trainer’s name.
Minus the steps off the lead behind, Madison Ramsey is my favorite so far.
Geez, even the smoothest rounds are still having swaps!
